For me it's about the customer's budget. The VPLXW5000 is better to me than the DLARS1100 for $1k lower MSRP, and it's laser.
The RS2100 is better than the 6000 and $1k lower.
I don't see enough difference between the 6000 and 7000 Sonys that would make it worth $16K difference. The DLARS3100 is $16K msrp and I feel like it's better than the Sony 7000.
The only reason I go with the Sony over JVC on the higher end models is that the JVCs have been a little bit hard to come by. I prefer JVC.
I have yet to sell the DLARS4100 monster, but one day maybe.
The last thing I will say about JVC is that sold me is that when I call Chris Deutsch, he answers the phone (as long as I don't forget he's on the West coast and call too early). He's even gone as far as talk directly to my customer and help sell a projector. He also was willing to meet me and customer at my Disty to demo a projector when he was in Houston, or even take it to the customer's home and set it up there.
I like my Sony rep, but Chris just takes the extra steps to earn business.
