For Samsung US, all the QLED (Q60, Q70, Q80, Q85, Q90 models) do have IP control (even the 32" Q60), configured with the "IP Remote" and "Power on Mobile" settings in the Network menu. Not sure about models below that level; I don't sell the 7000 / 8000 series any more. I know that when I do come across older 7000/8000 series (made in the last five years) they typically have both EXLink and IP control, so it's easy to update the control method to either one of those.
Can you get the TCL Roku TVs in Australia? Better performance and features at that lower-end price point.
Do you have a link to the Sony IP control issues? I've never run across a Sony running Android TV (or now Google TV) where IP control didn't work. And RS-232 is still standard on many Sony as well.
