Is there any way to use an IR/WiFi universal pro remote with Bluetooth equipment (for example the latest Samsung TVs) that no longer includes an IR option?

With the PS3 there were a half dozen or so devices dedicated to precisely this job. I wondered if there was a similar, but more generic programmable device to do the same for a wider range of equipment.

It might be a way of prolonging the useful life of such as the Pronto in an era increasingly dominated by Bluetooth remotes.
