I gave up being a CI (employee) due to medical reasons and am now a rep.
Old job:
Average 7am to 6.30pm (lunch optional)
Work vehicle including private use
Phone, and laptop
Plenty of stress
income around 70k
Current job as rep:
9 to 5,
Work from home most of the time.
No weekend work ever except maybe a tech support call once a month.
Away from home only about 3 days a month on average.
Overseas travel including time to myself on company dime. (Example, sent me to Stuttgart for 9 days even though my commitments were only 3 days)
My own choice of company vehicle up to 40K
Laptop, iPad, phone
No questions asked on hotel, meals, entertainment expenses.
Very little stress
Income roughly double my former job and growing with turnover.
I'm the first to admit that my job is not the standard deal as a rep. However jobs such as mine do exist and i got it on the back of being a decent CI and having some people skills.
That sounds like a great gig, but unfortunately it must be an Aussy thing.
I haven't heard of any reps here in USA that have it that good, although I hope that many do/could/would.
