It's too bad my original TSU9600 bricked. Should have offered to send it back to Philips for testing per this issue. The remote does power up at this point, but goes straight into "Firmware Application Download" mode. Same thing happens if I reset the remote. Am unable to download any firmware version to the remote unfortunately. An error occurs during the process. A few weeks ago I did power on the remote and it actually booted up properly. The firm keys would not press down and the scroll wheel would not turn, but the rest of the hard buttons and on-screen buttons including the firm key labels worked. Used it this way as a second remote for a few weeks and decided to take the chance and try downloading an updated configuration file to the remote. It bricked again unfortunately, so it sits powered off collecting dust. Will probably try powering it on again in a few weeks just to see if I get lucky again.
