Hey, i'll take that deal, but my payment wont arrive untill at least 3rd quarter 2008, but with all the bug testing, its possible I wont pay untill 4th quarter, but hey, YOU never know, I could actually pay by first quarter 08!

J/K, but all this nonsense about the drop date actually doesnt matter as much as knowing we will get a GOOD product.

Vincent is right, we should just be patient untill some big news makes it our way, and by the way, I have kept the data paths open between systems and sources, just in case the XP-8 actually comes out, thats what I meant by already including the logic for the processor.

Becoming a Crestron dealer doesn't in any way show disloyalty to RTI, ifthat seems like a problem to you. They are completely different markets now and who knows how long into the future, plus RTI is a great complement to a Crestron system. RTI handhelds work very nicely for Crestron control as simple one way devices.

If you need Crestron functionality and can get the line and can afford the large buy in and training both in dollars and in time, then you should do it. Crestron is an end to end solution. Everything from amps and a/v to high end controllers and touchscreens. RTI is a very good mid range one way control system and will be for at least a year. Then, maybe they will have some kind of two way control, but even then, the capabilities and functionality will be far behind what Crestron can do today (and for the past twenty years).

Oh and if you id spec in XP8s and that has caused you problems, there is no one to blame but yourself. :)

We have been Crestron dealers for many years, really just recently up to full speed with the line nowadays. They are still 2 very different levels, no matter how much you guys say you do not need 2-way.

I love RTI and especially how it plays with Crestron, but RTI has a few projects whereas Crestron has book full of product almost as thick as a dictionary...

Where did you get this info, as I need both units. From RTI, or your Disto?

Oh it would be and will be nice when RTI 2 way comunication comes out late this year. We just have not run into to many issues, that could not be resolved with good programing and creative use of "other parts"

I want to correct my previous post. I was at my distributor again today and clarified by saying that about 2 months ago RTI received the first batch of XP-8s and just needed to package them and they'd be shipped out. I guess they are very hard to package.

There is an advanced training course to be held at my distributor tomorrow and I'm sure I won't be the only one bugging the Rep about this. I will let you all know what he says.

Did you actually see a working model? Did they show you the software?

They have them waiting to ship. they are finishing testing to make sure they have all the bugs out before they let them go. No working one at the training though. and we couldn't get our hands on the software yet either.

Check their web site for TTD 6.0 and you'll know the XP8 is released.

I was told by the distributor that they would be shipping in time for the training class, even if they had to next-day air them. Of course this was the same guy who said that before the last training. I have been told that they are shipping by A*AD that they are shipping for about 4 months now. So you must excuse me if I don't believe them anymore. I'll believe they are shipping when I have mine in hand, and at that point I will start selling them.
