Becoming a Crestron dealer doesn't in any way show disloyalty to RTI, ifthat seems like a problem to you. They are completely different markets now and who knows how long into the future, plus RTI is a great complement to a Crestron system. RTI handhelds work very nicely for Crestron control as simple one way devices.
If you need Crestron functionality and can get the line and can afford the large buy in and training both in dollars and in time, then you should do it. Crestron is an end to end solution. Everything from amps and a/v to high end controllers and touchscreens. RTI is a very good mid range one way control system and will be for at least a year. Then, maybe they will have some kind of two way control, but even then, the capabilities and functionality will be far behind what Crestron can do today (and for the past twenty years).
Oh and if you id spec in XP8s and that has caused you problems, there is no one to blame but yourself. :)
