Mike Everett told me that they have the units and they are QCing them and running them through VERY vigorous testing, and that the first units will definitely ship in December.... but he's a salesman...he also doesn't any reason to BS me either.... so I guess we'll see.

I wish I could get my hands on the software update. I'd like to get a head start on a job we are working on.

I was told that they had a batch they had in QC, and they had too many failures on the chipset. So they are replacing the chips.

I too wish at least they would release the software (if it's actually built) so we can have our jobs programmed for whan the XP8 actually arrives.

The rep had one in his product case last week when he came to our store.
Software ready to go sometime this week I am told, and advised today XP8 can be ordered now for January delivery (Australia).

Geeez

I keep checking the site every day looking for the software update: then I check to see if the XP8 availability (4th quarter 2007) has been updated again

So what is next for availability: availability 1st quarter 2008 or NOW AVAILABLE ?

who cares.... sell something that actually is available.
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

Well let's just say that if you were scrooge and on christmas eve you were visited by three ghosts two of them would be telling you that xp8 was getting ready to ship. One ghost would visit you and show you the future and he would take you to the first time you put your hands on xp8. Of course as you look up and cuss at them damn kids in their flying cars you'd start to cry because you finally got your xp8 that you've wanted for so long, it's a good thing the doctors gave you a robotic heart so you could make it that long.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

UPDATE:

Hardware is done and ready to go, shippment of an additional 400 units is headed for RTI.

Software has a few minor tweeks as well as a firmware update for the XP8.

I was told "VERY SOON"... and it sounded like he meant it. ;-)
