Yes, it just happen to me, feel like a feel now. I pony up $725 for a Kirsch K3 and a pair of Theater Logic T2800. I was at a computer store when 2 guys came up to me and said that a where house worker loaded two of everything in his truck for an install. Show me the Kirsch ad and everything, even had the receipt that had paid stamp on it. They follow me to the bank to withdraw the money too. I’m thinking of calling the bank to see if there is camera out in the parking lot. I’m at work, so I don’t know if it work or not. I'm out in Washington State. I guress it happing every where.

So, you know those guys. Good, just tell them that the bank that we were at, has something call video camera. I was lucky enough to call the bank and told m waht happen. They said they have the video and to call the police. The video shows a good face shot of them. Now, how golden is that? Who will get the last laugh now? Please past the message to them. I'm willing to let this go if they just return my money.

I'm intrigued to know just who, exactly, this is aimed at.

Don't know, my guess is that he was talking to me
1) it was right after mine
2) the guy does not appear to be bright enough to realize that my response was not to him but to the two posts before him
3) in my post I have the name of two guys and I say their jokes where golden (but I take it he thought I meant him getting conned was golden.
4) in his reply he has "Now, how golden is that?"

now I did not say why I don't think he too bright, but my guess
a) him buying this shit in the first place
b) him thinking that calling the police and telling them he overpaid for something out of the back of a truck because he though he had a good deal on some stolen goods is a second
c) let's face it whomever he meant by his post he was dumb enough to think the TL people (or people who know them) hang out here
d) let's face it if you are semi dumb you get caught, completely dumb, you go on the internet and post your dumb move so the world can know how dumb you truly are.

Forum Administration,
RemoteCentral.com

Dear Sir,

Once again my attention has been drawn to yet another scurrilous post by the Anthony character.

Whilst forum member "wreckx" might show all the indications of being a complete idiot, I see no reason why he should be publicly pilloried by such a "dumbist" post. I trust you will see to it that such a thing does not happen again.

After 27 pages of high brow reading, I gotta chime in, and its a bit long. Yeah, two guys in van blah blah, I'll chalk it up to bad marketing plan - apparently Bose has marketing down to a science. I do want to meet these cats, maybe they'll let me take a speaker apart to see whats inside. I can't talk about all of the famous white van models, for the following info am only referring to MTS(Millenium Theatre Systems)
-The website looks as professional as any other online store
-The magazine looks legit, although no longer in prodcution.
-They have tech support and warranty plans, gotta be worth something.
-An actual review at [Link: associatedcontent.com] - He may not be an audophile, but he seems to have a lot of threads about random crap.
-Knee jerk reaction is to be pissed but people seem to like the systems once they hook them up. MTS could be legit, and if I get approached, I may offer $20 for a pair of them. The box must be worth that much. If you have some speakers, take them apart and tell us whats inside, what kind of speakers, circuitry. People dont even say if they 6's or 15's, and thats the basics. We may find that they are of decent build quality, but we only seem to have two kinds of people posting in threads - people that are upset because they feel scammed, and people who think that people who buy speakers out of vans are idiots. While both of you are right, lets figure out some comparison, are the insides you can get for $30 at MCM or Radio Shack, or are they from a more reputable manufacturer. Somebody supplied the good, somebody put them together and somebody knows whats inside. Its audio gear, lets figure out if its any good.

Is it really that difficult to make a reasonably decent looking website?

-The magazine looks legit, although no longer in prodcution.

Whilst I don't profess to being a member of the criminal classes, one would have thought the art of a good con is to make the victim believe that what they are seeing is truly genuine. What might look legit might not, necessarily, be so.

Have you actually checked out what's on offer? It's not exactly awe inspiring.

-An actual review at [Link: associatedcontent.com]

Rather speaks for itself.

I must concede, I'm one of the latter.

Why? If such speakers need to be "marketed" in such a wholly unethical way, my conclusion is that they must be of such poor quality they are unable to stand in comparison to legitimate products. They are simply not worth bothering with.
