Just a post on my experience. I bought 2 remotes (1 for the bdrm and 1 for the lvrm) from Fernando at pc mall (ecost). He can't beat the web site price anymore but he gave me a very reasonable price on overnight shipping. I placed my order with him at 3:00pm and I had the RCs the very next day at 10:30am. I paid $109.95 each for the remotes and $12.30 for overnight shipping. The only thing is the boxes are not shrink wrapped but the RC appears to be brand new with everything wrapped inside the box. Fernando is a very professional guy and does what he says. I would buy from him again!

None of the Sony RM-AV remotes have ever been shrink wrapped. Go look at retail stores, AV2000, 2100, 3000, never shrink wrapped. If you do see it shrink wrapped somewhere, they did it in house for security reasons.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you guys and gals know that on 10/04 I will be getting a shipment of the RM-AV3000 (refurbished).

The remote at some point had a fault, but sony makes them "as new units" they come with a 90 day manufacturer warranty only, but I can add a 1 year warranty. This warranty is carry-in and will either fix the remote or replace it. This would be great as a second unit.

Drop me an e-mail for prices. I will give a lower price than ecost and even my website (pcmall.com or macmall.com)with the price of remote and extra warranty included. Everyone here has been great!

I just brought one on 10/1 from Aaxes.com (AZ) for $111.95 + $8.00 2nd day air. I called (they were upgrading their web site at the time) them on Tues. afternoon around 1pm and got the package the Weds. the next day (CA). Very friendly and helpful. Check their web site today looks like the price went down to $110.95, but 2nd day air went up to $10.00.

Found them using www.pricegrabber.com, all reviews on Aaxes there had 5 stars. I was very happy with their service.

Here's another vote for www.aaxes.com. Purchased this remote for $113.95 (includes free shipping). Great communication - received order confirmation AND same day shipment with shipment notification and tracking number! This merchant has a 5-star rating. Now that's what I call great customer service!

I'll just add a "ditto" to aaxes.com. I received the same deal as the others above. Everything worked like clockwork.

Now I just have to decide if the Sony really is the best remote for me (I was torn between it and a similarly priced Home Theater Master).

This past Monday I ordered a refurbished Sony AV3000 at 3pm from ecost.com for $89. What a great price! Tuesday morning at 9:30am it arrived and I got right down to programming.... It was a little confusing at first, but after about two hours I had the thing very customized. It has truly replaced every remote I had in my home theater.

I was so pleased with it that I ordered a second one for my family room. It arrived today and has now been programmed. Even though I have different brands of equipment in the two rooms, I programmed both remotes to act as if they were exactly the same. My wife is thrilled to have one remote setup to learn for both rooms.

Ecost.com was great..... They shipped quickly and everything arrived in great shape. The refurbished units look as if they are brand new.
