WBXZ-LP channel 56  RF 17 is temporarily operating at a reduced signal strength.
Repairs are in progress.

Surprisingly, I can still get them here in St. Catharines. I emailed them and got a response from Steven Ritchie within a few hours. He said hopefully they'll be back at full power by next week.

Has anybody heard? Both BELL and Rogers are pressuring the CRTC to make OTA illegal and to somehow block the signals. Among other stuff. Hummhttp://[Link: cbc.ca]

Yes!

Please refer to the thread below started by Bruce,

"CRTC offers shutting down OTA transmitters".

This quote from the CBC Link makes me feel kinda warm and fuzzy, but confused at the same time:

It (the CRTC) has also opened the door to allowing TV stations to shut down transmitters, which would mean the end of free, over-the-air broadcasting of television signals.

All of that would do more harm than good, Bell Media president Kevin Crull told the hearing.

"Merely shutting down transmitters would actually make a dire situation even worse," said Crull.

I'm actually surprised he would say that. So, he doesn'y think that's a good idea either?

Not receiving 17-1 or 17-2 (WNED Buffalo over the air) in Toronto as of about the middle of Sept 2014...
Did something change?

Sorry if this has been covered. Couldn't find anything in search.

Channel 17 is still OK in St. Catharines, but Channel 2 is being a pain in the butt. Pixellation in the evening, signal strength going from 60 to 100 to 72% Arrrg!

How is Channel 56 (WBXZ) north of Lake Ontario. They're at reduced power, apparently, but for me it seems the same. Someone posted on their FB page that they can't get them in Niagara Falls N.Y.

WDTB Channel 39 (RF 29) Is actually now broadcasting Daystar programming. Looks like the same thing is on 67-4. I wonder if that'll change.

grit tv COMING TO WUTV 29-2

[Link: grittv.com]

Mostly movies with FCC mandated educated programming for children airing Saturdays between 10:00 and 13:00 ET.

      ZUUS country moves to 29-3.

This channel not to be confused with GRITtv.org, a liberal program dealing with injustice created by Laura Flanders airing on Free Speech TV.

WBXZ-TV posted this on their Facebook page yesterday, another sub-channel is on the horizon and it looks like the big boys want in on the action.

Here's a link...

[Link: en.wikipedia.org])

Click on where it says: Did you mean Decades TV Network. The link wasn't working right.

TV won't be airing until January 2015 on 29-2 or 29-3 accroding to  Nick Magnini, the general manager of the two Sinclair Broadcasting in Buffalo.   Action and Western movies are primarily the genre.
