Many in WNY can now forget about watching CHCH with that duplicate holy roller station on the same frequency (15) over on Gilligan's Island.
Years from now, you might as well kiss recording OTA TV goodbye thanks to ATSC 3

Still awaiting the actual program material from chn 11, colour bars or dead carrier lately. With a high directional UHF yagi pointed to Buffal, chn 15 on side receive at about 60% in Richmond Hill, same as chn 36. Funny thing thou, no signal on 4 bay Digiwave pointed straight to Hamilton, checked antenna specs, good for chn 21 to 69 ----- OUCH! Same make 8 bay used at Jane & Finch area, nothing on rf chn 15 and limited chn 17 signal. Looks like have to go for a UHF yagi there too!

I just rescanned here in Waterloo and it's now streaming on virtual channel 15-3 ..this morning it was on 15-1... coming in at roughly five bars and peaking at 18db so I'm happy again ..could never pick it up when broadcasting on vhf 11

I live in North York area of Toronto. I was receiving CH11 on VHF just fine with my 8 bay antenna pointing south to Buffalo and CN Tower. I thought things would be better now that they moved to RF15. However, in my case I can no longer receive CH11 unless I rotate my antenna west. Unfortunately I cant do that without losing Buffalo stations.
I sure hope CH11 folks are still doing some additional tuning with their power and broadcast pattern... otherwise I have lost CH11.
Anyone else in north Toronto or east Toronto lost CH11 after the switchover?

Hamilton Mountain (South) has completely lost reception for WUTV because of CHCH now broadcasting on RF15, . CHCH's adjacent signal is effectively acting as a jammer for Fox 14 and Zuus 14.2. Where Fox used to be a consistent signal, Hamilton Mountain is now getting no signal bars for WUTV. I used a notch filter and a quarter stub notch to block out CHCH but to no success.

Since CHCH CH 11 upgraded signal on Dec 2nd ,2013 I now get it in Aurora , ONT. I can now watch 60 minutes again.
the signal was not seen by me since change from Analogue to digital.

THe signal is now stronger and I think I'm at the extreme of the range for 132kW signal. Only getting 1 bar.

I know some people are unhappy with this changeover as it is interfering with signals from Buffalo.

I would like to see a stronger signal as I'm getting some occasional pixelation and breakup.

To me it doesn't make sense why CH 36 running from the same tower in Stoney creek puts out 493 kW and CH 11 only puts out 132 kW.
CH 36 signal is good quality in Aurora 3 bars.

CH 11 probably gets many more viewers than CH 36 and they should encourage a larger audience by putting out stronger signal.
even making it directional to north GTA if that helps.

The real issue is, WUTV on rf 14 should be on actual 29 and if omni directional from Grand Island, all would be well! Why it ever was assigned rf 14, bottom end of performance of UHF antennas, lower power etc. I will never know. Hope they petition the FCC to relocate to rf 29!

By the way CHCH on rf 15 is "iffy" across Toronto, I get it at Hwy 7 and Yonge, family at Finch & Jane do NOT!

Maybe I get bounce from apts on Yonge? RF 15 about same as rf 36 chns!

CHCH baffles me with all their channel changes. Now that they have moved to 15, I have lost their signal unless I point my antenna directly at Hamilton. CH36 comes in fine because they are at higher power.
When they were on 11, why didn't they just increase their power from 6 kw to 12 or 20 kw rather than bother moving to 15 and causing problems with WUTV.

Also, their broadcast power on 15 is not very high compared to other uhf broadcasters. It seems to me that CHCH is just trying to save electricity.
Come on CHCH, crank up the power.... is the CRTC holding you back?

As usual I'm last to know but no rescan is needed for my use of CHCH.
It is coming in for me at a consistent 60% strength or better.
No interference with WUTV, I still have the odd phenomena of WNED not coming in on the outdoor antennae, just on the indoor antennae.

Since mine is computer-based I kept the old entry for SUN-HD in the main channel file, so all I have to do is edit that to CHCH-HD and delete/move the old rf11 and rf18 off the "Favourites" menu and move the previous SUN entry into the "Favourites" menu.

At last I can again get news from my own 'backyard' because the other three I watch are too Toronto-centred.  CFTO is still hit and miss at my location.

Haven't seen ION in ages though MyTV is always prone to Nature's whims. AML.

Per the comment on "60 Minutes", when football or golf ruins the recording I can get it either from going to the CBS sub-site or plucking an .avi, .mp4 or .mkv off the 'net, and its' quicker because there are no commercials in those forms. CBS somehow stopped blocking for those outside the US but usually after a one or more days' wait, to view at their site.

If I read it correctly, it is only 15 kW and aimed mainly eastward.
So I doubt even manually adding it would work for those on the wrong side of the tower. Fort Erie might get them but I don't think Welland or westward will.

I'm in mid-town Toronto in a south-east facing condo about 26 storeys up and have, in the past month or so, begun having issues receiving signal on 17-1 (WNED/PBS). For quite some time the channel has come in rock-solid, but now exhibits a weird behaviour where the signal comes in at inconsistent or odd times.

For example, during the day 17-1 is pretty much out, but sometimes later in the day or early evening it will come in for a short "promo" spot for an upcoming show. Then, when the programming is about to resume, it cuts out again.

Sometimes, late at night, the channel will come in perfectly and for a good, solid hour or two. Then it cuts out again.

Is something going on down WNED way that is causing this? As an aside, 17-2 (Think) exhibits none of these issues.
