The RCA RCRP05B lists two tv codes for soyo.

We may be able to help, but a little more information would be useful.

You mention a Shaw remote "hooked up" to the TV. Do you mean that the Shaw remote can turn the TV power on and off, control the volume and channel?

Does it look like this picture www.urcsupport.com/index.php ?

If so, we can make it control most (probably all) functions on the TV.

I'd like to know the setup code you are using to control the TV.  If you don't already know, use the above link, click on the red letters that say "Atlas DVR-1055", and follow the instructions for blinking back your TV setup code.

If you have that remote, we'll be able to make it work--but you'll have to do some entering numbers on the keypad of the remote.

If you don't have that model remote, you could buy the RCA RCRP05B at Best Buy ($20), or find a used Atlas on the web.  Let us know what you have.

Ugh. I'm hoping I can get some help here... I have a Soyo DYLT032D Serial # COG05 ~ Yeah I know, it's the worst one to have! My daughter ate my remote... well, slobbered all over it. :P Anyway, it doesn't work anymore. I know there are no universal remote codes for this TV, so I guess at this point I'm just curious what my options are??? I have an ATLAS 1056B that I am currently using for my cable so it would be great to find a code for this but not necessary. I just want to be able to adjust the volume of my TV without jumping up! Any suggestions??? ;)

Thanks!!

Why the negative thought waves? Try TV 1520 or TV 1546. Those are known to work for the DYLT032A.

I know your email is old but I have a Soyo HDTV and the remote broke. Are you still offering the universal remotes programmed with SOYO codes?

Soyo brand used a variety of manufacturers, and so the IR protocol varies depending on the model number. We do know which IR protocol is used for a few Soyo TVs. Tell us the model number. If it is one of the known numbers, we can steer you toward a new remote ($20 or so) which can send the codes. If we don't already know the IR protocol for your particular TV, then there is considerable risk in getting a universal remote, and hoping it can be made to work.

I assume the email you refer to is from The Robman. He runs hifi-remote.com, so you could reach him there in the MarketPlace forum. However, he'll also need to know the model number, and if it isn't one of the known models, then the same risk applies.

My dog did same to my remote control..messy! I think I heard about a new remote gadget and app that plugs onto my Iphone. It lets the iphone control all devices that use their own remote. Sounds a bit 'star trekky' to me.... have you/anyone heard of this? I'm pretty tired of getting off the sofa to change channels on my TV!
