Are you trying to re-program the remote that came with your Soyo TV, and if so, what are you trying to make it do?

Or are you trying to program a universal remote to work your Soyo TV? If so, what's the brand and model number of the remote in question.

Tip for the future, the more info you put in your post, the better able we will be to help.
Rob.

I have a UR4-DCT Universal remote for my Motorola Cable set top box. I want to get the Soyo TV to work with this remote. I need some code that would work, the Soyo people list the Proton codes are suppose to work, but they fail. I also have a Sony RM3100 remote and can't get the Soyo Tv to use preset codes. Any other Ideas? Anyone else having problems with Soyo TV remotes.

This is what I got from SOYO Tech Support:

At this moment the name SOYO is not on the market at this time, the
closest for this SOYO TV are the Proton codes, once we get the
signatures for the codes for the SOYO TV's we shall provide you with the
information, we apologize for the inconvenience.

There are plenty of sites online that are selling this TV (like tigerdirect.com, so I don't know why they're saying it's not on the market.

And better yet, I've just noticed that we have a JP1 upgrade file for the Soyo DYLT037A 37" LCD HDTV. This model does indeed use the Proton protocol, and it pretty much matches the TV/0466 code that can be found in most "One For All" and "Radio Shack" remotes. There are several buttons missing from that code though, including the arrow buttons, so if you get an OFA or RS remote, you'd want to get one that supports advanced codes.

I'm not familiar with the UR4-DCT remote, so I don't know whether you should expect any of the Proton codes listed there to work or not. If you get a remote like the "One For All" URC-8910, you should be able to use TV/0466 to work most of the functions, and I could give you the advanced codes to work the ones that are missing.

Rob, Good News. I have the Dymond Series 32" HD-Ready LCD TV - DYLTO32A . I bought the OFA URC-9910. I tried the 0466 codes & 0178 codes, no good. So I bought the JP1 cable kit and downloaded the software. I prefered the RM (Remote Master) software. I tried the created file for SOYO 37" TV, no good. So I learned all the signals and created a new file for the SOYO 32" TV and it is working like a charm. If you want a copy of this file in RM Format, please tell me where to send it.

Tony has loaded a copy of his upgrade into the JP1 file section, in case anyone else needs it:

I can't help you with the Comcast remote, but if you want a regular universal remote that will work the Soyo, I could pre-load the code into a "One For All" URC-8910 remote for you, if you like. The remote is $20 and shipping is $4.

Hi and thanks ROB, looks like I read my mail a day late! I bought a urc-8910 at " best buy " yesterday. One for All says this model can be programed over the phone, I don't see how so I'll call them again.
Something doesn't sound right about this, I'll probably take you up on your offer. Thanks again for your reply.......Harry Demo

The URC-8910 absolutely can be programmed over the phone because it has a modem inside it. What you do is you call OFA and tell them what devices you need codes for, then they look them up and find the codes for them. They then tell you how to put the remote into "upgrade" mode and they play the codes over the phone (it sounds like a regular modem, lots of blips, etc) and your remote listens and accepts the codes.

Hi Rob, just one problem! They know the code (1520) but it won't be in thier data base untill end of June! So I'm taking this one back to Best Buys and will order one from you. I'm going to take a look now to see how to do that through PAYPAL! Thanks again, Harry..............

Hello again Rob, you might remember sending me an 8910 with the 1520 code put into it to operate my SOYO tv. It all works fine.
Now I'm back to needing two remotes!!! I want to run my Satalite
recevier with the remote in sat mode. It's an H20 Direct Hd TV rcvr.
Can 1520 work when the tv button in on and 1377 ( that's the code for sat but once again, it's not in the data base yet.
Thanks if there's something you can do again, Harry Demo
