After closing shop for almost a year, I've decided to re-open the www.prontobattery.com site, and I'm now taking pre-orders for a new 1200mAh battery pack for the Pronto/Marantz remotes. That's 200mAh more than the packs we used to sell, and double the capacity of the OEM battery. We had hundreds of happy customers who bought the 1000mAh pack, but I shut down the business when my wife passed away last year so that I could devote all of my time to taking care of my kids. I've now decided to open the site again, and I was pleased to see that advancement in battery technology will allow me to sell an even higher capacity battery. I expect to ship the first batch around the beginning of January, and the second batch a couple of weeks after that. Thanks to everyone who purchased from me in the past - if any of you want an even higher capacity pack, please visit www.prontobattery.com and place an order and get on the list for the first batch of batteries. I would be happy to answer any questions ([email protected]). Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate that. She died of lung cancer that even though she was never a smoker and took good care of herself . It all happened so fast. This is off topic, but I want to urge everyone - if you feel that something's not right, for whatever reason, please see a doctor. My wife suspected something was wrong for over a year, but put off seeing the doctor thinking "it's probably nothing - just a little cough and shortness of breath". It wasn't until one day when she woke up coughing blood that we knew it was serious, but by then the cancer had metastasized, and and we had such little time left together. It's so painful knowing that if she had simply gone to the doctor - if I had just urged her to do so - it could have saved her life. Everyone should take advantage of the modern medical resources we have now, and the only way to do that is regular annual exams and seeing the doctor whenever you feel something is wrong, no matter how little you think it may be. We are all intuitively tuned into our own bodies, and we can sense when thing are wrong - don't ignore your instincts. Oh, and please cherish every moment you have with those that you love, because life can be so short and so fragile.

I wasn't going to say anything, but since the topic has come up, I'm donating 10% of all battery sales to cancer research.

Sorry for the depressing message.

Not depressing at all. As a cancer survivor, I find it to be an important statement. For anyone concerned about lung cancer, it can be detected in very early stages by a helical cat scan. If detected early enough, lung cancer can be eliminated surgically.

Hi,

I am very interested in a 1200mah battery but would like a bit more info.

-Does the battery work in a UK RU990
-Does it is the same safety cutout that the original battery had
-Will the battery cause any problems/failures

Having spent £500 on my Pronto I hope you understand that I very cautious that no harm comes to it

Cheers

Baz

Well, 11 days ago I sent $54.00 to him for a new battery. I waited 9 days and have not heard a peep. I then emailed 2 days ago asking if the battery had been shipped. Still nothing. Looks like I'm going to have to dispute my purchase thru Paypal.

Nice......

Folks,

I ordered mine thru PayPal in December when this version of the battery was just announced. I did not expect to get the battery until the middle of January, however it is getting a bit late. Hope all is well and this is just a production back up. Has anyone received his/hers?

I have not even heard a word from them. I have filed a dispute thru Paypal to get my money back. I have even linked to this thread to show others experiencing the same issue with them.

Emailed them a few weeks ago and I got a read acknowledgement but no response.

Emailed them again last week and got a response, he apologised for the delay and said he had supply issues with the parts.

Also said he had just had operation and outlook expired on business computer hence did not respond to email.

I am not sure whether this is genuine as it all seems a bit of a coincidence.

I wasn't aware that there was a discussion about this going on here because I don't get on here much. There's no scam going on, I'm just waiting for a part to arrive before I can complete the batteries and ship them. I had been waiting for this shipment of parts to arrive for a long time, and it recently arrived incomplete. I'm currely sourcing a different distributor. I don't expece it to take much longer. I'm very sorry for the extended delay. I didn't anticipate it taking this long. I appreciate everyone's patience.

I do reply to all emails, and I've responded to dozens of them recently about this issue. If I missed an email, it must have gotten snagged by my spam filter. Very sorry for that. If anyone wants to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to email me and I will respond promptly.

Unfortunately I decided to cancel my order but was just curious to know if anyone has received theirs yet? And if so; could they let us know what the improved performance is like?

Cheers

I haven't received mine yet either. He posted a status page here [Link: prontobattery.com] on 2/14/07 I haven't heard a word since.

It would be nice to at the very least to get a weekly update. After all, We all sent him over $50.00 and since we have we have only received a status page in return.

I just ordered a $700.00 MythTV PC from TVEase.com These guys give weekly updates and post on the forums more than daily. They also have day jobs.

So it's not to much to ask to give weekly updates and post here every few days.
