The "Activity > Customize Buttons > Additional Buttons"
still works fine on my 659 and 680.

This is how you map buttons. I believe it only works for the LCD screen, but that's all I need.

Thanks!!

For those that have the "One", I believe there is a firmware upgrade. I clicked on it and it said it was upgrading but I didn't see what the version was before.

Todd, on the regular Harmony remote models, you select "Activity > Customize Buttons" to map the activity buttons. Then there are 2 options (on the right). You select "Standard Buttons" for the Hard Labelled keys, or select "Additional Buttons" for the Soft Labelled (LCD) keys. The new "One" model should have similar options.

In case some of you are wondering. The Harmony One allows you to make buttons on the LCD screen. The buttons you make allow you to type in up to 3 lines of text [you must put a space between each line] up to 10-11 characters on each line, which allows you to actually read what the button does. Each button I made on the LCD screen was perfectly readable.

Now this all depends on whether you use capital letters, lower case, or even numbers. But I was able to put numbers & lower case letters on a button looking like this....

11 EACH LINE (NUMBERS)
12345678901
12345678901
12345678901

11 EACH LINE (LOWER CASE LETTERS)
abcdefghijk
abcdefghijk
abcdefghijk

10 EACH LINE (CAPITAL LETTERS
ABCDEFGHIJ
ABCDEFGHIJ
ABCDEFGHIJ

After configuring my Harmony One for a day or so. This is not highly needed but it would be "nice" if Logitech added an option to add custom or predetermined colors to the LCD buttons.

I think it comes useful when buttons are "mapped" from other devices in an activity. This way on my "Watch TV" activity I could have the mapped buttons for plasmas aspect ratio and color settings a certain color. At the same time I could have the surround effects of my receiver another color to differ from the plasma buttons.

Just a thought!

Hi,

Stupid question. I know how to add buttons to the One by suing the learn IF page, but is there a way to eliminate lcd buttons for a device? There are quite a few I don't need.

I have my One programmed with 13 devices and 13 activities. It is fantastic.

Try deleting the command and the label (Device->Customize Buttons).

Here's a site incase you don't want to use or install
the Logitech software to your computer. I don't know if
it is me but I found a few features here that I haven't
found with the installed Logitech software.

One of them was being able to change the background image.

http://members.harmonyremote.com

I noticed that there are posted pictures with different backgrounds for the Harmony One (and that there is nothing on the desktop software that allows for it). When I went ot the site above I only saw options to change the theme and slideshow. Where is the background change option?

Thanks,
Evan

I'd love to have that going on.

That what I saw originally when I logged in to the web version of the harmony software. There was an option to change just the background image and I'm not talking about the slideshow. I since logged in and can't find it.

Now this may have been before the software update and it got deleted.

Yeah this was a feature with the desktop software prior to the 7.4 upgarde. I was surprised it got carried over to the 7.4 verison when I loaded my profile on the new One. Just annoying that I will not be able to change that anytime soon until LGT decides to put that option back into the interface
