Well I sometimes walk into the kitchen with my remote while cooking and it is nice to be able to use all the controls without having to walk back into the living room and point the remote.

I looked at that Hotlink pro and it seems nice but I do not see the ability to have 35mm IR plug output. I prefer to use those when possible as opposed to the IR emitter with sticky tape

Wow. I'm getting itchy fingers, despite the new remote
NOT having dedicated color buttons. Why won't Logitech
give the US color buttons??? Cable systems use them.
DIRECTV uses them. Logitech needs to give them to us
so we can use them too!

not that i care to open this can of worms again and this may have been previously mentioned, but...

i was thinking it would be great if i could program the remote to have the colored soft buttons on every lcd screen of my "watch tv" and "play xbox 360" activities. i would lose real estate on the screen for other buttons but would simply add pages to compensate. and the convenience of having those colored buttons from my dvr omnipresent on the remote would more than make up for it.
i spoke with t2 support about it this morning and will follow up with next week after i hear back from a sw engineer. i'm thinking it might grease the wheels a bit if if others think it's a good idea and call in to ask it for that programmability.
i can't think of any other downsides. logitech wins with a sw vs. a hw manufacturing solution and it's something many users are looking for.
your thoughts?

Surprised that nobody has posted this yet. Seems as tho Circuit City either has it ridiculously on sale or has a major pricing mistake right now. I (and many other people) just bought one from there for a cool $150. At that price, it suddenly becomes a bargain compared to the 880.

This thread has all the details: [Link: forums.slickdeals.net]

Good luck finding them!

I read through all 24 pages of that thread only to find out that one person bought the last one in my store and another person bought the last 5 in the next nearest store. Oh well, I guess I'll try to special order it for that price.

I was at my local C.C. when it opened this morning, and the sales clerk checked 6 other stores on their system, but there are no Harmony One remotes to be had in my area at C.C.

I picked one up at Best Buy at the regular price and am starting to play with it. The transport keys are just a bit too low for my taste, and I need to retrain my fingers, but the LCD display is very nice.

I went back to CC. They have changed the price to $199 and let me order one. I saw the local warehouse had 101 of them. The guy knew about the $149 price yesterday and said it was a mistake. Shoot, the $199 seems like a mistake too! Anyway, I'm happy with $199.

I just picked up the Harmony One. I'm not new to Harmony remotes but I am new to being able to upload TV icons.

I've got the channel logos, but where do I go in the Harmony software to upload them?

Goto:
1. Activities tab
2. Under your version of "Watch TV", click on "Settings"
3. Click on button for "Set Up Favorite Channels", then "Next"
4. On this screen, you will be able to setup your favorites and select the image you want to use.
5. When you click on "Select Image", you will need to click on "Browse".
6. Now you will need to find the folder the icons are saved in order to select one.

Thanks I will upload them later.

Another thing that comes to mind after I updated my remote. I can't find a way [right now] to map buttons on my "watch tv" activity to have the "Aspect and AV Mode" for my Pioneer Elite plasma. These buttons I like to have on the main page of most all activities because of how often I need to change the screen size and sometimes change the AV mode.

I had the capability on my Harmony 659 but I can't seem to map and right now. Has anyone been able to map other buttons to the LCD screen from a different remote?

The "Activity > Customize Buttons > Additional Buttons" still works fine on my 659 and 680.

Here's a site incase you don't want to use or install the Logitech software to your computer. I don't know if it is me but I found a few features here that I haven't found with the installed Logitech software.

One of them was being able to change the background image.

Is this referring to the post I made about mapping buttons from another remote to a different activity?

It is not on their web site yet. You have to actually go to the store.
