While I prefer the rubber buttons on the TC 30, they volume and channel buttons are a bit low - I'm guessing that the designer was rather petite even though the remote is very long.

Also their tech support sucks big moose. They design their interface using safari or Mozilla so when you attempt to run the software you'll get messages like -
Possible Browser Problem
We have detected that you are using a browser that has not been fully tested for use with this web site. Users will experience problems accessing some portions of the web site when using browsers that have not been tested. Please be sure to use the remote software to access the correct browser.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Their tech support group is about as helpful as SPanky from the little rascals - if you e-mail them asking where to get the latest version of their software - they'll reply - via the web.

Also the logitech 880 I have gets recognized every time by my PC, my TC 30 has numerous connectivity and recognition issues within their software.

The european models would be perfect for the new directv boxes (H20, HR20). Does anyone know if they will work. I like the hard color buttons.

I have no idea why they don't have the xx5 models available in the US. As has been stated many times they would be perfect for cable box, media center, etc. It's just not practicle to try to get one from the UK. Kind of a dumb marketing move if you ask me.

Thanks to NMO. This is the kind of individual effort that makes surfing the web the resource it is. You need a remote (or in my case remotes for your clients), you find remotecentral, you find a few comments about Harmony, you find the Harmony thread, and then you find this post (which, inmho, should be made a sticky).

In fact, let's extend the praise to all?!?! When is the last time you went to a new site for a new subject and managed to find the right product choice, right thread and an great introduction in 20 minutes?

Thanks to MNO and all. I will personally commit to putting together at least one similar type post in areas I know more about, and maybe others will too.

The 670. Items of interest are:

1. No media button. (but support said the "favorites" functionality can be added via soft key when it is implemented later this month.)
2. Elliptical style scroll pad ala 880.
3. Hard gem style buttons.

I feel that the new 670 is a great remote. Reason being a lot of consumers of this remote have DVRS or PVRS the 670 actually has the Functions On the Hard buttons rather than the LCD screen.

The 670 is more user friendly when it comes to customers who have a PVR.

Just bumping this back to the top. I love this thread! Dell has the 550 for $74 after coupon right now, so I'm trying to decide between that and a 670.

It should be noted that the extra "Picture" and "Sound" buttons on the 890 Pro, (Not sure about the other "Pro" models), are not just two extra buttons. They actually give you 2 additional sets of LCD Soft buttons and also can be used to change the other button functions. For instance when I am watching a DVD I have set my "Sound" button up so that I have all my receiver audio settings (THX, DTS, Auto-Sound, ES 6.1 etc...) and I have set up the Menu, Guide, Up, down, left, right, OK and number buttons etc. so they operate functions on my Receiver instead of on my DVD Player as they do in the normal activity settings. This reduces the number of soft buttons on the main activity and also makes it easier to find the "Sound" and "Picture" related buttons. I find this to be quite a big plus as it greatly reduces the number of times I have to go into the "Device" area.

Does anyone have pictures of the 880 or 890 Pro models?
