If you own a Pronto and also an HLPxx74 Here is a code to try for Discrete HDMI which is one of the codes Pronto owners have been looking for --
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AB 00AB 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 003F 0015 0015 0015 0715
I just learned this from my Home Theater Master MX-800 to a coworkers Pronto and he extracted the HEX code for me.
(The code in my MX-800 is working with my HLP5674W so it should work if we learned it ok (did several passes to get multiple identical ones).
Other HLP owners might want to try this as well but I think the best chance of it working is with the HLPxx74 models.
Paul

Thanks Paul-DVX. That HDMI code works perfectly on my HLP5674W. Could I trouble for the On and Off codes. I haven't found an on code yet that works. The Off code at the beginning of this thread usally works, but sometimes the TV comes back on. My workaround is to enter the Off codes twice. My On workaround is to use an Off command followed by a Power Toggle command. I would be very appreciative if you could provide those codes

For Power ON I use a macro with Discrete OFF, 1/10th pause, Discrete ON so I am in the same boat as you. BTW do you have Melody Off in the setup. I have heard this affects on off behaviour (I leave it off). Paul

I appreciate the time and effort everyone has put into finding the HLP codes, however, it does not appear that anyone has uploaded them to the remotecentral.com site. Can someone please do this? I have spent several hours sifting through the various posts trying to come up with a complete list.
I too have a HLP-5063W and have been unable to get many of the codes posted here to work properly (HDMI, Ant, DVI, etc).
Thanks

I just purchased a HL-P5063W and am hoping to purchase my first universal remote--either the HMT MX-700 or the Harmony 680. I'm leaning towards the MX-700. I'm a complete rookie when it comes to universal remotes, but I think I have the patience to make a go of it. ;^)
I completed reviewing the postings in this thread and am wondering what kind of issues I will run into. Will I be able to come up with a solution that makes things easier for family members to use our simple home theater? Or will I simply be exchanging one problem (too many remotes) for another (incomplete functionality, unexplainable results)?
I appreciate your candid comments. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I just learned this from my Home Theater Master MX-800 to a coworkers Pronto and he extracted the HEX code for me. So other's have reported that this code works on some of the newer HLP models. It doesn't work on my HL-P5685W. I'm wondering if John or someone knowledgeable here can explain why this code appears significantly different than any other Samsumg HLP codes. Specifically the fifth and sixth "words" are "00AB" instead of the "00AC" in every other code I've seen. What is the signifigance of this (if any)? Jeff

I have not been able to locate the long form codes (or find a converter to create them from the code you list) for my HLN507W. Can you post the long form codes for the discrete codes you have found? Even better, do you have a ProtoPro page with them set up? On 10/07/04 14:24 ET, bmontini said...
Thanks! THESE WORK WONDERFULLY (I have an HLN507w1x/xaa - Feb 2004)
This brings my total up to (all aquired from this site of course!) Power On - 99h Power Off - 98h Video 1 - 84h Video 2 - NOT FOUND YET Video 3 - ECh SVideo 1 - 85h SVideo 2 - EDh SVideo - FBh Comp1 - 86h Comp2 - 88h Comp3 - E8h VGA (PC) - 69h DVI 1 - 8Ch
This particular model does not have DVI2, HDMI1, HDMI2, IEEE 1,2,3. The only items I need to complete this are: Video 2 Antenna A (RF) Antenna B Zoom 1 Zoom 2 Panorama 4:3 16:9 AutoFormat AutoWide RF1 Autowide DTV
The Zooms and RFs are the next goals that I would like to get "fixed"
Everyone's help here has been GREAT! AND extremely helpful.
Note: I have not had a problem yet, switching to inputs that have nothing hooked up to them (ie, my Comp3, Vid3, and Svid3 all have nothing pluged into them)
Thanks again for everyone's help!!

HELP!!! Anyone! I have a brand new Samsung HLP4663WX/XAA (according to the sticker) Every single "discrete" code from this thread toggles the power. I have a TSU2000 and I am using ProntoEdit 4. I have V2 as well. Any help would be obviously beneficial. The "learned" code from the single power button on the OEM remote is significantly different from any I've seen on here. Learned power button... 0000 006c 0000 0022 00ab 00ac 0016 003f 0016 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 071e If possible, please respond directly to me ay [email protected]

Ultrageek,
Seems like I have the same issue with my December 2004 built HL-P5685 with firmware 1031. Any chance you can check to see what revision of firmware you are using in your xx63 model? Let me know if you don't know how to do this.
Also, could those of you with working discretes on the HL-Pxxxx series tv's please post what firmware revision you are using? This may help sort out some of the confusion as to what works for who and why.
Regs, Jeff

Samsung technician just left my house after upgrading the digital board in my HLP 4663W from 1014 to 1035. Now, all of the discrete input codes generated from the excel spreadsheet posted to this forum previoiusly work as advertised, except S-Video 2. Included in what does work, however, are the HDMI and TV/RF inputs!!!!
Unfortunately, the zoom/aspect discretes do not work, but it was never advertised that they would....
So, check your firmware in your HLP-series sets. If it is less that 1035, you *can* get Samsung to replace the board under warranty.

One more thing, turns out the 1035 firmware has a small design issue where the voltage fir the 3D comb filter is set to 1V. On sets like my HLP4663W, this value should be set to 2V. So if you do get the new firmware/digital board installed and if the display of RF signals looks very washed out, this is brobably the cause.
