Guilty and me too

now back to the topic at hand

this whole thing disgusts me that people (MC) can even think this way and disgusts me more that they would act on it.

many future decisions have now been easily made as to future endeavours, even if it was the best chit on the planet i would not support this business practice in any way

Mike

Does this mean it's now OK to sell Monster Cable products again?

Sounds to me like Noel "came to an agreement" with Snowmonsters.
It also sounds like Snowmonsters was pressured into making this sound 'like no big deal'
I imagine Noel would hate to loose his Radioshack,Wallmart,BB acounts!!!

I would still love to give him a 'monster' size twelve boot in his face!
But I won't.

Let him dig his own grave.

i routinely educate my customers about monster and bose.

once educated they understand.

at the avs htpc forum there is an ongoing suit with monster htpc inc. vs monster cable.

my dislike of monster came when i dissected a cable to find that it was not as described/illustrated on the back of the package.

my biggest gripe with both bose and monster is the outrageous mark-up they have on such mediocre stuff.

if they would charge just 50% of what they do it would be a fair price in my opinion.

i have learned the hard way that it doesnt matter how good the product is so long as the marketing is excellent.

there is so much crap out there that makes $$ because it gets marketed so well and so many great products that never make it to market because of lack of good marketing.

marketing is king when it comes to money and both these companies are concerned with making $$ their top priority and ethics be damned.

lots of bad kharma getting brewed there fer sure.

thanks for the place to rant.

and i didnt write the freakin ----its my first day !---
if it aint broke.........tweak it !!!

if you like using substandard junk, then yeah... i's ok to sell Monster again.
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

This thread has gone kind of long without a real clarification of what has happened:

There is NOT a lawsuit against Snow Monster's by Monster Cable, even though they make it out to make one think that there is.

They have a lawsuit they filed against Monster Cable.

They have, and have always had a common law right to use the name Snow Monsters, Monster has not tried to stop them. You don’t have to file a trademark to own it.

They want to file a trademark with the patent and trademark office, in the same categories as the ones Monster owns “MONSTER” in so they opposed it, but they dropped the opposition since it is about "monster characters" they created and Monster is not concerned about that category.

The owner of Monster sent an email over the holidays telling Snow Monsters that Monster is not concerned with their use of "Monster" as it applies to their current business.

Hope this helps to clarify all of this. "wattsupnow" signing off...
