Anyone going to CES here? How about a Poster of the Lawsuit blown up really large and posted right across from the Monster Booth? Freedom of speech baby!
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Monster is quite determined to protect their brandname although they tend to be a bit overzealous. Having worked for Harman in the past I have learned the importance of keeping a brand identity and the necessity to protect it since there are thousands of "little guys" that would be glad to take all of your hard work on your reputation and use it to make some sort of closely named knock off product so that they can rake in some quick cash. It of course makes sense for Monster to protect their brand name when faced by companies that could easily be confused with them, it's the other stuff that is silly and yes Monster.com has felt the repercussions of Monster Cable (am I the only one that reads the news?) :)

Monster Cable is taking the hard liner approach to brand protection and it may hurt them in the end, however a negative industry reaction will most likely make them take notice.

SNOWMONSTER vs MONSTER CABLE ???
Snowskiing vs audio cables??

I guess I don't see the "common ground"!!!

I can see protecting your assets, but, this is pure, power hungry stupidity!!!!

NEWS FLASH!!!

I think I finally understand!!

AVERAGE kids learning how to ski with big dreams vs AVERAGE cables with a big marketting plan!!!!

IT FINALLY MAKES SENSE!!!!!

NOT!!

Great Link.

I wonder whether the Discovery Channel and Jesse James will just close up Monster Garage quietly without a fight or whether this is going to get nasty.

SCOOBY-DOO AND THE MONSTER OF MEXICO. Give me a break. These guys are insane.
A movie titled Humanoids From the Deep from 1980 was originally titled "Monster". Did they change the title because of a lawsuit?

Dogman...

What a list...

I am absolutely vowing NEVER to sell a Monster Cable product again. I am also going to make up some fake company and put it on a shirt and wear the thing next to their booth. I can't believe some of the things in here.

Suing the Chicago Bears for calling themselves the monsters of the midway?

Suing the rock band "Monster Magnet"?

Ludicrous

Ridiculous

Amazing!

Good list... thanks for the entertainment.

How bout we all form a company called "Monster Dickwad, Inc." with a Noel Lee lookalike character buried under a pile of his own crap cables. I have a good artist.

The sad thing is that BB and Radio Shack have gotten the Monster religion. They totally don't need us, so I can't understand how any of the little retailers would even offer them anymore.

I just noticed that M* also sued CES:

Kind of on par with Bose suing Cedia.
