Note that Microsoft spends quite a bit of money on education. They offer special licensing deals to schools and colleges. They offer computers, and education programs to teach students to use those computers. Then they have various programs that grant money to schools, and provide scholarships. Then you have the Gates Foundation... lots of work there on providing assistance to schools to help students be better prepared, and students assistance in paying for college. I received some scholarship money from Microsoft, and will be forever thankful.

Yes, well Micrsoft spends massive amounts over in India. They are building a ginormous complex over there as well.

As for the current batch of kids expecting everything to be handed over to them, I don't toally buy that. Kids are taught to feel entitled.

We can choose to enable our kids or teach them that the world owes them nothing. My son has a lot of "entitled" friends from well to do parents, while my kid has had to tough it out and do for himself.

It IS about the constant "stating as fact" that all Fox stories are false and concoctive. That's a very naďve statement and one that's rooted in your OWN bias.

I did not say all Fox stories are false and concoctive. I said Fox pushes false narratives and faux controversies. Those are two completely different statements.

It's not bias: it's acknowledging the obvious. It's not biased to call an obviously biased source biased, it's objective.

Welfare rancher stands up to government = hero.

FOX News Math Lesson #3,614.

Like this was a surprise to anyone...

Cliven Bundy expresses his opinion about the "negro".

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids—and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch—they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

The cognitive dissonance in this thread would be entertaining if it wasn't so pathetic.

Two bad your not surrounded 100% by them.

And there you go, following the leads of uneducated spouts that have no idea what the tea party is about. You've immediately followed prey to hype that the Tea Party is all about race.

I feel very sad for you. Tis a shame.

Two bad or too bad- Ernie where are you?

Ranger, I said nothing about race. I was just amazed that a couple of guys here seemed in agreement with the Texas Rancher / Moocher / Hypocrite and his militia clown-force.

So if I am misinformed about what the Tea Baggers stand for, could you fill me in?

Don't be sickin' earnie on me! LOL

You mean the Arizona rancher??

This is where we can get in trouble when we dont indicate what our comments are reference. Your posts followed mac's so I assumed it was in response to his post which does speak of race.

I may have assumed incorrectly. I don't know. Probably not as you likely intended the moniker Tea Bagger as a slur regardless.

Would it matter if posted the meaning of the Tea Party movement? It would be shot down by those that believe in their own bias and will only believe what they want to believe anyway. Its not likely any minds would be changed with the truth. That's apparent in this thread. Truth doesn't matter. Its all mostly false narratives and faux controversies, right? Facts be damned.

As for the kids who feel life should be handed to them, do you blame them?
Look at how we have brought them up.
Go to school - no one gets left behind, no one fails anymore. Sure it might still be hard to get an A+, but a B requires little effort if you are even a little bit smart.

Play video games, die (Loose) and just pop up with a new life ready for action.
Want to level up without much effort, there are web sites devoted to telling you how to do that for just about every game out there. Why go to all that trouble of earning your way up the ranks.

Play sports - everyone gets a trophy at the end of the season, even the biggest looser. By the time your 15 you too can have a trophy case at home filled with meaningless dust collectors, just for showing up to play. Ahh the memories...

Watch TV, Shows are either about 20 - 30 somethings that lead wonderful lives with no sign of how they earn an income, or they are about 20 -30 somethings that go out and behave like retards (am I allowed to say retards?) with no sign of how they can afford to do the stupid things they do. Or we have shows about people willing to look stupid just for the chance of easy money.

Then of course there is the internet and all the moronic videos that get passed around showing even more stupid people doing stupid things.

If you pump enough stupidity into someone's brain, where do you think they are going to end up?

In places like India and China, there probably is not much of a middle class. So working hard in school, if your lucky enough to be able to go, is not an option, it's a must.
Here kids know working hard can get you to the top, but you can also take easy street and still end up in the middle. And for so many of them, that's OK.

Yes! Once you are an adult, I don't care what your parents did, the person is responsible for their own actions. I place blame upon the parents until the kid is an adult.

Look at how we have brought them up.

We? Don't count me in your we! I didn't bring anyone up this way.

Go to school - no one gets left behind, no one fails anymore. Sure it might still be hard to get an A+, but a B requires little effort if you are even a little bit smart.

I've always been against the nobody left behind, everyone is a winner philosophy. I believe in small kids all getting some play time for a sport... but later in life, the best play. You either put in the time to become good, or do something else.

Play video games, die (Loose) and just pop up with a new life ready for action.

I think video games teaching life skills, is a joke. I don't buy it, never will. I've played FPS games for many years, have yet to go on a rampage shooting spree.

Play sports - everyone gets a trophy at the end of the season, even the biggest looser. By the time your 15 you too can have a trophy case at home filled with meaningless dust collectors, just for showing up to play. Ahh the memories...

Horrible idea. Not my idea, and I don't support this philosophy, as least not past the age of 8.

If kids aren't smart enough to realize that TV shows are not real indications of life, they have serious mental challenges. I don't know of a kid that doesn't realize the difference.

Then of course there is the internet and all the moronic videos that get passed around showing even more stupid people doing stupid things.

Look, all those lemmings are jumping off a cliff, follow them! Please, then I don't have to listen to more drivel like this posting.

If you pump enough stupidity into someone's brain, where do you think they are going to end up?

You mean drivel like your posting, where everyone is responsible, except the kid and the parents?

In places like India and China, there probably is not much of a middle class. So working hard in school, if your lucky enough to be able to go, is not an option, it's a must.

Don't kid yourself... there are underachievers in China. Lots of them. But if you're not willing to put in a certain amount of effort... you starve. Don't expect food stamps in China!

Here kids know working hard can get you to the top, but you can also take easy street and still end up in the middle. And for so many of them, that's OK.

Anybody who wants to barely scrape by, is fine with me. Just don't expect me to pay higher health care costs, because they didn't want to pull their weight, and as a result chose not to get health care, so they could have a phone, and now want emergency room care. There is nothing in the Bill of Rights that guarantees health care, I say, let em croak!
