The exact reason I'll never join Angie's list. Too many crackpots out there... Yeah, I understand about AL. I had a butthead give a lousy review on AL because he said I never called him back even though I called him twice and his wife three times. I was really depressed until I made about $10K during the three weeks after his review...

Have your lawyer write a Cease and Desist order on his letter head threatening him with legal action for blackmail and Defamation of Character. Then send him a bill for your lawyer's time. I'd also report him to the police and Better Business Bureau just for good measure. The BBB report is to help others that might get the same sh!t from this turd. I hate to have to use attorneys, but I use the best firm in town as my corporate guys. If you don’t pay (steal from me), threaten one of us or slander my business, I will fight like you were attacking my family. And I have done exactly what was suggested above. I suggest you do the same. That being said, we are overly accommodating with our customers and go the extra mile all the time. However, you have to draw a line somewhere. Do not put up with threats or defamatory reviews. You actually have the law on your side. Spend the money on an attorney and send letters to both clients.

The Sh!tty part of this is that you have to probably spend more money than you made off this clown to protect your business.

Yes, sofa-king, but by maintaining your reputation, you probably make more money than if you let it get ruined. You have to look beyond this client to the others that will see the reviews.

Just wanted to give a quick update.
Wow, its so worth it to have a good attorney and proof. He sent a cease and diciest letter certified, i also sent an invoice to him for my attorney fees and i received a check in the mail today all $325 bucks worth!!!! with a post it note saying "sorry I messed with you"
So far so good, no reviews anywhere. thanks everyone for your help and incite with this turd. i wish i didnt have todo what I did but sometimes you cant let things like this go. I just hope this asshole learned his lesson and wont mess with anyone else. I feel bad for all the people he screwed over and gave into this worthless pos.
and for anyone that thinks they can run a business without a lawyer your playing with fire, highly recommend you get in contact with one to keep in your "Rolodex"
My attorney is also requesting that i change my phone tree message to "this message will be recorded for quality assurance" and start recording every single phone call, good and bad. Im already writing my script to be sent off and re-recorded.

One thing I'd like to add. Since my issue with that client, I started requiring all techs and clients to fill out a satisfaction survey before the techs leave. I actually used a white paper from CEPro for the template.
It includes everything from wire "neat and tidy" to screens cleaned, internet functional, blah blah blah.
Could you share the link where the CEPro satisfaction survey can be found?

That's awesome. I think I'd frame it rather than cashing it in!

I have a hard time with AL, or any similar sites. If hiring a contractor off of AL, I would trust the review as much as a itunes APP review. They are barely worth the effort. More effort should be put in obtaining email and letters from clients for use as referrals for potential clients.
