If Prodigy follows along the same lines as a SystemBuilder built Adagio system, and I assume that Prodigy Composer is built on the same backend, then it will be easy to program.
What I mean is that IF you were to use devices from the Crestron Library (or User Library IR drivers or User Library Serial Devices that are SB approved .umc files) then it should go pretty quick. When you step outside that functionality and attempt to do something that the system wasnt intended to do then there could be problems. Since, afaik, the Prodigy only dealers will only have access to Prodigy Composer that odds of someone having to spend years honing a skillset in Crestron's programming languages will not exist. So yes, you could 'hang n bang' a system and run to the bank with a check....but only if you dont promise the sun, moon, stars and a launch the space shuttle button to the end user. The dealers that DO promise all of that on this scaled down unit will end up having to have a full line dealer rescue the job and possibly even have a CAIP reprogram the new system.

We have already been through that phase. I jumped on with Control4 early and they sucked until they launched the HC300 controller. They they cut my dealership because I wasn't selling the junk the previous year. I just couldn't lose money working with their growing pains. Hopefully Crestron already has the kinks out of the software since it seems to be a rebadged System Builder product.

There are atleast a million projects that will need less than 18 dimmer/switches and three thermostats.
Can someone truthfully answer this question, does Crestron system builder allow scheduling out of the box? Scheduling lighting scenes and thermostat setback. Control4 and Homelogic can do this. If Crestron Prodigy can't do this then it is no better than a Nevo Q50 with a Russound CAV6 two-way driver. Not trying to bash Crestron at all. I just can't see selling a $250 thermostat that you can't schedule. when you can go to Home Depot and purchase one for $12.
Do the Crestron guys have module that can be bought and added? If so then I think they are golden. Yes! you can do scheduling by going into System builder, which is an option.

I have been a dealer for over 3 years. I have gone 30 days with no sales with c4 and never had any problems. Are you sure that's what the problem was. Cause funny thing is, i'm in your market?

Try going 8 months without a sale, or should I say not selling Control4. I chose to sell HomeLogic. When they came out with the HC300 I sold a project, then when I sold another project they told me they did not renew my contract.

Gotcha. Sorry, There is someone with a name close to yours that is from houston. Sorry for the confusion. I hate to hear you had to quit working with Control4. After the FIRST year we started doing very well with it.

You know i really dont get yearly commitments, if you had one dealer that did 2 a month thats 24 a year, if you had a smaller company that does maybe 1 every 2 months thats 6 a year and if you allowed 3 companies in their with that number thats 18 a year on top of the 24....Why pull the dealers that are selling a couple a year, its not like the control company is losing money on them?
just something i dont understand...any one want to enlighten me?
and i feel that companies that are pulling their line from us because we didnt make their "commitment" because of the economy is plain rotten. It has been quite hard for us CE Pros this past year getting customers to do audio systems. Now i have to become a dealer with Marantz again and pay the opening order (which i may not because of the way they treated me) ugh.

That is why I am staying away from Control4. First tech support lied to me telling me that no company could create a two-way driver for the Integra Reciever 2nd zone. I have been doing it with Homelogic, then the HT controllers nevers seemed to work right. I have dealt with Crestron when I was a programmer and never had issues even when I screwed up a program and locked the Pro 2. This tells me that Prodigy has a good chance of success from the start, not to mention the Composer is based off of System Builder which has been around for many years.

Has anyone heard anymore about this product? Is it going to AVAD? The local Crestron rep told me to get back to him after Aug. 1st, but is now on vacation.
