Mike, just a few observations, your car's front grille is called a "fishmouth" and was only made 2 years. The turn signal lenses on the front are on backwards. If you post pictures on MGExperience, the Stanleys will eat you alive on that. It is the "site" joke. The door cap rails on your car are from a MkI car and are worth taking off and selling to a Mk I owner because good ones are rare for them. The flatter door caps are correct for your car and plentiful at good prices from members of the MGE and Ebay.

DO NOT use generic brake fluid in the brakes or clutch systems. Use Castrol LMA only. The rubber compounds are different in the US versus the UK. And the US fluid will eat the seals. Also the color codes for the wiring harness is different than US. BROWN is HOT. So don't wire in a radio or whatever without getting a Haynes or factory manual with a wiring color code chart.

Wire wheels are pretty but they suck when worn. The hubs and splines will wear if not tightened properly and are expensive to replace. I always changed wires with solid wheels. Even new wires and hubs can make little clunking noises on acceleration and stopping.
If you Paypal me $5 for shipping, I will send you a Haynes workshop manual for free. Private message me for details.

I have owned 20 or more MGBs over the last 45 years and they can be fun and reliable if serviced and maintained properly.

If you click on the url of one of my pictures, it will take you to my photo bucket with pictures of the MGB I owned for 32 years. Sold it in 2012 to Grand Prix Cafe. They have it for sale now at almost what they gave me for it.

I finally got a little time to go through your photobucket pics. Beautiful car. Probably the cleanest MGB I have seen.

Heats on Fire?

Yuppppppp that's it! I have done more research on this ring then I have ever done before. Fortunately my love doesn't care about brands or price, she had a very specific setting and stone that she wanted and it just so happened to be that HOF had exactly what she wanted! And it comes in slightly under budget, but still at the top end of it :/

Apparently there are only two jewlers in the world that cuts diamonds like that and it's HOF and a company called hearts and arrows! Even thought the diamond works out to be an S2Vbut just the way it's cut is spectacular. They even have you walk into the mall out of the jewlers light so you can see it's not all marketing BS...

And out of all the rocks we have looked at in the same clarity range these so shine the best, and every single diamond down to the ones in the band are cut the same way.

Mall jewelry store? Hope you took a tube of K-Y with you. I won't make you cry in front of everyone by telling you what their markup is.

Got a new shift knob for the MGB today. I found one on Ebay I liked and was happy to see the guy was local. I took the steering wheel with me to go meet him. The guy does some beautiful work. He had custom dash kits, knobs and wheels for all sorts of classic cars. This is what I chose:

Today, I never left the couch, and binge-watched "Just Call Saul"... A good quiet day. Turned off my cell.

New season starts in 2 weeks. Can't wait. House of Cards is a month away.

3ped,

Hearts on Fire is nothing but good marketing. You can do much better at a local jeweler who can also replicate any setting you like. If you were closer I would send you to mine.

I havent gotten into HOC yet, but have a couple friends who insist I watch it. Thanks.

Saul, is pretty good, but a little slow at times. I like the guy who plays SAUL though.

I made the mistake of stopping in a Jared store near Christmas.

Wife had lost a gold necklace and was going to get her a new one.

That place, like most Jewelry stores is beyond the car dealerships in depravity, and zeal to gouge.

Every time some sales geek got some sucker, they would ring a bell and the entire staff would cheer.

I think most of the idiot shoppers thought it was fun. Little did they know it was "making" fun.

The prices were at least 3 times what I paid at a small local place.

House of Card is excellent. I am NOT into politics and stay away from it and still find this an excellent show. Better Call Saul is definitely slow at times, but still very good. Not quite at Breaking Bad level yet, but hopefully will get there. Hoping to see some familiar faces this season. Bob Odenkirk is perfect for the role. He's been in some other things, including a small part on Seinfeld where he dated Elaine. He was the one that said "Doctors always have a dream of dumping who they are with once they get their license and find someone better". He's a great actor.

House of Cards had my attention for a few episodes, mainly because Kevin Spacey is solid, but it felt like I was being dragged along. Better Call Saul I like, being that I was also a huge Breaking Bad fan and yes, Bob Odenkirk is perfect in that role.

Also diggin' Black Sails, pleasantly surprising show.

HOC gets better. We thought it had a slow start as well.

I'd suggest watching a few more episodes, it really is a great series!! I love Better call Saul as well, Bob plays this character perfectly.
