I met with Jeremy briefly today at our new showroom (should be functional in about 2 weeks).
He was not what I was expecting either. Very down to earth and professional...and I dare say mature versus how I've seem him or heard him being portrayed.
The Origin line is good and continuing to get better. We've installed a few but haven't transitioned yet. We did build a sound board to demo head to head at the 200 and 425 each price points with Sonance (VP62R and VP82), and at the time I felt the Sonance's blew them away...but they were first run samples and there have been some improvements since the initial release samples. Once were done with our build out I'm hoping to have time to run some more AB's with them and see how they stack up.
They are plenty profitable just like most other competitors, but since launch they've been running some very favorable quarterly promo's...but my challenge with that is yes I get a better quality/sounding speaker for the money...but I can't spec based on what promo we might have 2 months down the road.
I do think Origin is going to be come the key competitor to Sonance and SnapAV depending on niche/demographic and the longer term differenciator will be a function of servicing us dealers/installers.

All I've ever heard about Jeremy from anyone that has met him is that he is actually a quiet, laid back, and all around nice guy.

When I spec an item and it then goes on sale, all I say to myself is "yay, mo money in my pocket". Unless of cause they are running ads in magazines that end users / clients would see. I don't normally see that with anything that I carry/recommend.

I want 30%. You don't get how merch works. By the time everyone else gets their cut, there won't be that much left. Gotta make sure the union gets their cut

Well Im sure they sound as good or better as a lot of the in wall / in ceiling speakers out there, plus most of our custom clients ever ask for demos... They go by what we recommend. What I like about the line, is Jeremy's track record for servicing dealers (from the early days of S-Craft), and the ease of installation, broader dispersion, and they are not being whored-out online or through distribution.

Unless of cause they are running ads in magazines that end users / clients would see. I don't normally see that with anything that I carry/recommend. The challenge was on a dollar to dollar normal retail/selling price comparison, the Sonance's blew away the Origin Acoustics across the board...now when they offer 1 or 2 steps up for the same price the comparison gets much closer...but I can't spec a $600 speaker at $200 for the same performance as the Sonance's normal $200 speaker because the promo is only for a certain amount of time and could end at any time. hopefully that helps clarify a bit.

The Jeep? The future awesome cars? All the cool audio/video gear you have or ever plan to have? Imagine waking up one day in a world where none of that exists. Imagine having every dollar you would have spent on something cool...being redirected towards wall paper and a ceramic chicken collection for the kitchen.
