We have several kayaks at our place on the new river. A few single seat designs that sit down in the water, a single that rides on top, a couple doubles that sit in the water, and a couple double seats that ride on the water. Only time people have ever turned them over have been if they got stuck on some rocks with some little Rapids that pushed the kayak over, or one of the kids intentionally rocked it hard enough to roll over. To flip one in a lake requires a lot of effort and wanting to flip, or you'd have to be a giant retard.

So, options are, on purpose, retard, or lying.
