I got the little x1. I wanted a fun little hatchback with decent fuel economy, and coming from my pathfinder and my daily time in an e250, didn't want another truck like the x3/5 felt like. They were also out of my budget.

So I got the 2.8 with the 8 speed. Added the dinan tune, and am thinking about an intake with some exhaust.

I got the audio upgrade, for a stock system, the 2 subs under the seats do a pretty nice job.

All I need, fun little car, I take it to meetings, I've run some service from it when I only need a laptop and a screwdriver.

I know I'm a sellout, but our next car is going to be the 4-series convertible.

If my POS Volvo S40 Turbo ever breaks, I'll get another BMW.

Maybe.

I need to get rid of the 69 Vette, and the 67 Beetle first. Been thinking of taking the engine & tranny from the Volvo and stuffing it up underneath an old Corvair convertible, just to be different.

160+hp turbo in a Corvair would be kind of fun. Definitely more true than the claimed 180hp on the old Chevy flat 6.

Failed to get a pic of the front, here is one from a different day

This is my first trip to the German side. Can't ever see myself not having one again. I hate putting a car seat in it so I kept our old honda accord for hauling kids. Every time I drive the honda which made me perfectly happy in the past, I'm now annoyed by its lack of precision.

My little x1 will have about 330hp when I'm done. When the lease is up I'll buy it out and move on to something else. Who knows where I'll be in 3 years

If I were to go German, I'd go Audi. It's not as cliche. But so far I haven't figured out how you take one of them German cars off a logging road into the woods or where you load a a 10 point buck

I flew at 70mph through the hills of West virginia during a snow storm passing tractor trailers and the Xdrive tracked beautifully. That's about the extent I need in off road abilities

Yesterday, went kayaking with my son. I capsized in a swampy area of Lake Wahington called the Aboretum, he was ahead of me. My kayak flipped, and he wasnt aware until he looked back about 30 seconds after I was struggling underwater... and I was trapped as the Kayak was only in about 4 feet of murky water in a tangle of underwater brush, and the kayak was rapidly filling with water and holding me down (I thought those damn things were supposed to float). My head and shoulders were on the swamp bottom, and I could not right, or even climb out of the damn kayak. Managed to swallow and breathe in mass water... By some miracle my kid came back and helped drag me to the surface. After throwing up and coughing up a all that foul swamp water. Those little kayaks are tipsy as hell. Never again. I dont know what I would have done if my son were not there.

Me too. Had a B5 S4 new back in 01. I sold me A6 this year to make room for the work truck and I really miss it. I had the 2.7t with a 6 speed transmission. I had the APR tune on it and that REALLY woke it up.
