i do apologize for my attack, i did not know your position in the company, and respect very much your approach to such aggresive attacks. i had many friends that were personally hurt by CC's business moves in the last 2 years and that makes this subject personal. i FULLY respect your position of having to provide for your family, which is the exact reason why i was once a firedog contractor. i started working with CC because the installers that my friends store had were terrible. i came in amongst huge promises and found only long hours and often no money. it didn't take me long to get out , but i still have people that i respect that you probably work with weekly if not daily. good luck with your job and the crestron approach and once again i do apologize.

Thanks I will need it...No big deal, apology accepted. I am very aware of what has gone on, and what is going on, all I can do is help try to fix the issues, and hope they don't let me go...again.

I was thinking about applying and putting on my resume
that I have a Prince Albert, but I rarely show it to customers.

AHEM... I had to laugh todays seeing on the news the story about some lady that had to remove her nipple rings with a pair of pliers, before boarding a TSA flight!!!

Made me think about you trying to board with your "P.A."! LOL

oooooouuuucccchhhhh!

Now, how would a pair of nipple rings present a danger on an airplane anyway?

If you are speaking of Johns made up "buy out" story, you won't find one.

no, the sales guys when they were on commission they wore
taupe or blue blazers...the red ones were for the sales/store
managers.

Oh yeah, thats right. I never had a blazer. I had gray uniform pants and polo shirts (whearhouse attire)

Still, they reminded me of the ugly yellow blazers Century 21 made their agents wear.

agreed the jackets were ugly, but ya know what fresh out of college and making $48K ain't bad...the veteran sales guys were making between $60K-$85K, no joke. We had a guy that had been w/ cc for almost 20 years, and it seemed like every time you went to approach a customer, they were waiting for this one guy...he11 of a salesman, needless to say he make quite a bit of $$ until they restructured how the commissioned salespeople got paid...that was the start of the end for making really good $$ as a sales person.

I too once wore the the gray and blue blazers. I was in the first wave a salesman when circuit city first opened up in Minnesota. the firsts six months in best buys back yard was incredible, takehome pay was between 4 to 6 thousand a month. at 22 years old and living at home i was having the time of my life. Sadly it didnt take to long for the sales volume to drop as the new store luster wore off and CC to start dropping the the commision on products. Last time i was in a CC to buy a cable that i needed for an install they were still using the same product codes to tell the salesman what they were making on a product. for a fifty dollar cable the commision was maybee 25% of what it was when i was there. this was several years ago

That's kind of how it was back in the early days at M-Nolia... I was more of a slacker salesguy though, and didn't make the BIG bucks like a few of my co-worker "floor sharks", but I did OK, managed to buy a house and all that junk... but one of my coworkers had a 45 foot ChrisCraft yacht, another bought a killer "Ruff"sp? Engineered Porsche 911 whale-tail, and he had a beautiful '57 Jaguar "Saloon Sedan"... Plus all of us had free Mitusbishi big-screens and junk from sales-incentive programs... Houses were cheap, gas was $1.15 a gallon and there wasn't an internet yet!
Sales-Spiffs were handed out in cash daily at the end of the day --- and most of that $$$ was spent at local hot-spots after work.

Ah yes the good old days!

Hey, at the time I wanted to upgrade from my required steel toed boots to a blazer. But the stupid ops manager (no one liked her) that I interviewed with said you had to have at least a year experience of selling big things (cars, houses, etc) to get a sales position. Then I decided to not stay long enough to work my way to the floor.

You guys are getting completely off topic. The article posted above clearly states that Firedog employees are not to wear either cargo pants or denim, yet I've seen them where nothing other then cargo pants and denim.

I call false advertising.

One of these days when I have nothing to do I may follow the dogs around and get pix of them parked in a clients driveway. You know they're breaking that rule too.

I wonder if they have to use those little plastic bag "campers - potties" in the privacy of their vans instead of using the customer's turd-vaults?
