The new module (V1.1) adds Sonos zone names and lets you control the volume (system vs. zonos)! Look at the various instructions pages. Great work. Maybe they read these forums .. ;)

New Module works fine, but is much slower than the previous version. You can switch your volume control to use your system vs. sonos (and mute). Do this by deleting the label YES (do not delete the small panel where the label is located). However, once again, VERY SLOW. Even the graphic of a command being executed (top left corner of my 9800) goes in slow motion... Well, anyway, some improvement. Thanks pronto team and keep them coming! SJ

I got the new version running today. A nice improvement in features, but it is so slow I can't use it. Even just scrolling up and down in a short list is painful. Things that take a 10th of a second on the Sonos remote are taking 5-10 seconds on the Pronto.

Yeah, they need to quit adding new features and just get the interface to work FASTER! When you read their "white paper", they seem to show how you might exaplain the usage to your customers, etc. The module is not ready for primetime at this point. SJ

Also have noticed the option to link zones together is missing. Would also like to be able to control volume by zone. EG the family room would like to use system defaults but on living room and garage would like pronto to control those volumes. The family room is setup as a fixed output as it goes to the receiver.

Radio is working for me with 3.1 on favorites but metadata is not coming through, eg artist and song names.

All in all this is a great module, plenty of potential.

pjjameso-

did they enable radio options for scanning stations, or do you have to pick favorites, and only the favorites show up on the remote?? can you select a favorite station or do you have to get it going on the sonos remote and then get metadata from the pronto? I was waiting to buy a Sonos system until the radio features became available (I understood version 1 only included access to music from the Pronto but would show metadata if a radio station was selected from the sonos remote). I would use the radio features more than music, so until full radio functions become available, I'll wait.....

The only stations that are showing on my pronto are my favorites. I am able to select the 'favorite' radio station from the pronto. No meta data is showing up on the 9600 eg artist/song.

Wow,
The way everyone is talking, seems like the new module is a step backwards

No it is not, far from it. I can confirm that it has become slightly slower but has improven by adding The Play Now Button, which was a pain in the 1.8 version. However the module has to be become much faster, in order to use it properly. For me it is like a dream come true, because I have been waiting for this module, since I'm using Sonos.

Marcus, it's no difference if you or I go into the Sonos module properties in PEP2 and select the hard buttons - as long as we are talking about the same module, and I don't think we are.

There are two different Sonos modules:

- the old AVD module as .xcf-file, downloadable from the Pronto module site
- the new Philips module as .gef-file, downloadable from [Link: pronto.philips.com]

Yes, I was using the AVD module. It wasn't clear to me from the Pronto website that there were two different ones... Sorry for any confusion.

Completely agree. Just needs to be much FASTER at this point and I wish they would a add a module for the 9400. I modified the 9800 one to work, but I'm not doing that again.... SJ

If you want to play with it, the 1.10 module is relatively easy to port to a 9400. Simply revise the screens, you don't need to modify the ProntoScript. Don't forget to change the font size on the firm keys. After this first pass, everything seems to work except the view Queue screen.

I reduced the size of the artwork display with mixed results. This seems to slow things considerably and the scaling is not always attractive. Keeping the original image size is faster, but the image occupies most of the screen.

Overall, this version seems slower on a 9400.

Edit: The view Queue does work, perhaps I was too impatient. If I was ambitions, I would pick through the ProntoScript and modify the firm key labels because some of them are too wide.

Well, the latest version (2.02) is a bit faster. Glad they keep improving it! I bet they will release a 9400 version once they get done with the major improvements. SJ

I have a ZP90 that i'm working with and noticed that I'm only getting 10 radio stations listed on a 9800 even though I have more than that if I use the PC software. Is there a limit to how many "favorite" stations show up via the Pronto module. I have the latest firmware of everything runnning

I have upgraded to version 2.02 of the Sonos module, and can't get that to install at all. I can see the module at the bottom of PEP, but when I try to drag to the tree it seems to work (progress bar flashes up) but it doesn't add an activity. Anyon else have a similar problem?
Thanks
Graeme
