Website says shipping feb. (PAMP4X100)

Oy.

I have received three of them, and put one on our test rack. The software is still tricky, but they seem to work as advertised.....

If you are using Prodigy, be sure and update the firmware on the PTL4 and iPod doc. You can find the updates on the product resource page. I didn't see them in the usual place.

Heck even URC can handle distributed video better but no feedback on handhelds and costs only a little less than Prodigy.

Alan made a good point and there is something many people here do not understand. In most cases feedback is of little use in the type of installation you are speaking of. In fact some of these devices, even Crestron devices, do not actually provide true feedback.

Yes, I have received three of them so far. They do support two-way volume feedback on the PT4L, didn't notice on the remote. I'll check later.

I have a PTX3 on order, but who know when it will ship?????

Yes, but it was bumped. I was told by my rep April 1, but that may have been for the new PMC2+PTX3 Combo.

As for the Video Distribution. Prodigy can handle it just fine, I think the limitation comes to number of zones b/c you can only have 6 handhelds. Had the only made it 8, it would cover a lot more systems. Although rarely do we have 8 discrete video zones, its usually 4 or 5 Video a couple audio only, in which case a combination of handhelds and in-wall's would work.

For those that are saying Feedback isn't necessary on a DV system. I think the one time it is most needed is determining if a SOURCE device is already in use in another zone. However, that could be figured by other means like a video/voltage sensor to see if the source device is powered on, except prodigy only has two sense inputs. Which brings me back to having a 2-way control of a matrix being a nice feature.

Our rep thought around $1100. PTX3 should be shipping in about two weeks (again from our rep). I also understand the PLX2 and MLX2 are going away soon, too many issues with range and no real way to extend it.

For the combo (most likely will be a PMC3 Kit). I don't know if they had any thoughts of a hard button remote similar to the PLX2 or not, but the rep didn't hint of anything.

The PMC2 is the processor - it stays.

The current remote is the PLX2, which is what will eventually be disco'd.

The PTX3 is the color touchscreen remote, retail price for it alone will be around $920.

The combo (PMC2 + PTX3) will likely be around $1100.00

I have a question about the PAMP, I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like there is any way to connect an external amp to any of the zones. Is this correct?

For outdoor zones, I often use a big 2-channel or cheap 6-12 channel amp. I hate to use up all the Prodigy 3 or 4 prodigy zones for ONE ZONE.

right but why would they disco the PLX2 - its such a cheap entry point.
and its perfect for guest rooms etc . .

also for outdoor amps,
not sure how many amps do this,
but something like the audiosource amp200 (i hate audiosource)
has speaker level in . .
