Strengths:LCD display. Well laid out buttons. Slim design(I have small hands)
Weaknesses:Macro programming
Review:This the remote that ships with a Denon AVR1800, but doesn't have any learning capabilities.I found it very easy to use and contained all the preprogramed codes for my system. I never could get the thing to successfully do a macro string.I now own a Pronto. Nuff said.

Strengths:Great Design (metal front), Perfekt Button Lighting, Sleep and Timer functions, Cursor Pad
Weaknesses:Forgets Time settings when you change the batteries.
Review:I tried the Pronto but a prefer the touch and feel of real hardbuttons. The Ru880 had codes for the most of my devices and it learned the ones that where missing.
Very flexible programing of the buttons.
8 Devices. 7 IR + 1 RF or 8 IR. More if you share the buttons of one device with more than one device. There is a "shift" button if you want to put a second command on each button. It took me about 2 hours to setup my devices. (With the Pronto i was never finished!).
(Receiver Yamaha 2095, DVD Panasonic A360, Digital TV-Box Micronik 1200, Digital TV-Box Nokia dBox II, MD Sony 530, CD Sony 300 Changer, Digital VCR JVC 10000, VCR Panasonic SVHS , TV Thomson Cinevision 16:9, IR Lighting System) Great remote for all who like the touch an feel of "real" buttons. And yes of course you program macros.

Strengths:Relatively nice design. Seems userfriendly.
Weaknesses:Had big problems learning quite a few of my remotes.
Review:Had big problems learning quite a few of my remotes. Biggest trouble was my Panasonic DVD-player remote - the Philips wasn't able to learn any of the keys.

Similar problems was with the remote for my Pioneer mini-system - not as bad as with the Panasonic remote, but not perfect either.

I only had it for a couple of days. I returned it to the shop and purchased a Marantz RC5000 a few days later...
