Programming the Jensen SC-595:

Configuring codes:

  1. Turn on the component that you want to set up. In the code listing find the 4-digit code numbers for your component brand.

  2. Hold the component key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.

  3. Release the component key.

  4. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.

  5. Within thirty seconds, enter in a 4-digit code number. The component key lights will blink with an upward motion when a code has been successfully entered. In this case proceed to step #5. If the code has not been successfully entered, the componment lights will not blink. In this case return to strep #1 and start over.

  6. Test code by pressing "Power" key. If the component turns off, you've got the right code. Follow the same instructions to set up your other components. If the component doesn't turn off, return to step 2 and use the next 4-digit code listed.

    Note: If none of the codes turn your component off, try the Auto Code Scan function.


Auto Code Scan:
    The Auto Code Scan feature allows you to set up your components without having to enter in code numbers. The Jensen will do the work for you! (It may take a few minutes to find your code using this method.)

  1. Turn on the component that you want to set up.

  2. Hold the component key down until the light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.

  3. Release the component key.

  4. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.

  5. Press "0" - "9" The green light will blink as codes are sent.

  6. As soon as the remote turns your component off, press the "action" key. (You have 1 second in which to press the "action" key to save the code.) The component key lights will blink with an upward motion when a code has been successfully entered. The component is now programmed. To find that code, proceed to Code Readback.

  7. If none of the codes turn your component off, return to step 2 and start over.

Code Readback:
  1. Hold the component key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.

  2. Release the component key.

  3. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.

  4. Press the "enter" key.

  5. Count the number of times the green light blinks. There will be four numbers, separated by a two second pause. The red light will tum off after the remote is finished reading numbers back. Make sure you write the code number below for future use!

Multi-Component Power On/Off:
    The Jensen remote has the ability to turn On/Off multiple components at once. When you perform the following steps, you can turn On/Off the TV, VCR, Satellite, Cable Box and Audio Receiver.

  1. Press the "action" key.

  2. Press the "power" key.

    Note: This feature does not work for DVD and CD.


Volume Priority Punch-Through:
    When you press the volume keys on the remote they will control the volume on your TV. If you have a home theater system and want the volume keys to control your receiver only, you may set your volume priority to the receiver.
  1. Hold the "RCVR" key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after about 3 seconds.

  2. Press "RCVR" key.

  3. Press "Vol+" key. To disable the volume priority you have to set and return to the default.

    To change back to TV priority:

  1. Hold the "RCVR" key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after about 3 seconds.
  2. Press "RCVR" key.
  3. Press "Vol-" key. The volume priority will now default to the TV volume.

Sleep Timer Function:
    Your remote is equipped and programmed with a SLEEP/TIMER function, separate from your TV or for a TV not equipped with SLEEP/TIMER.

  1. Hold the "TV" key. The Green light will come on within 3 seconds.

  2. Release the "TV" key.

  3. Press "Power" key.

  4. Press numerical keys 01 -99 for the desired number of minutes. (Example: 01=1 minute; 99=99 minutes).

  5. Point the remote at your TV, and leave in that position. When the programmed number of minutes has elapsed, the remote will turn off your TV.

    Note: The remote can be used to control all functions and devices while in SLEEP/TIMER mode. To cancel SLEEP/TIMER mode, repeat steps 1-3. Enter the number 00 with the numerical keys to cancel the SLEEP/TIMER mode.


Multiple device control:
    While in one mode the remote allows you to use some features of your other components. The following chart lists which functions crossover to other components.
