My fourth URC Home Theater remote in the past 12 years has bit it. The number one feature I like about the old remote is turning on my stereo in the morning no matter where the remote may have fallen in the bedroom.
What remotes have a timer/clock that I can use to turn my stereo on in the morning and also have an RF base station option?
I was all set to e-bay a URC MX-850 or MX-900 until I found the thread with 30 pages of people who can't get the programming software for these remotes.
Any advice on any brand would be greatly appreciated. I have run across a couple of references to some Sony's that advertise timers but can't confirm if they will function as my alarm clock.
Should I look at an old Pronto family remote?
Am I the only one in the world that likes to use their stereo as an alarm clock?
Thank you!

I have the programming sofware for the mx850 but I don't think it has a timer or clock. I am not sure.. I am very familiar with programming of the mx850 - I have been using it for many years.. I did want a timer and I could not see anyway I could do that.. I tried a sequence of 30 sec delay codes into a macro and it did not work out for me.. Besides, its not a good one. Many new computers do not have rs 232 connection.. I don't know about the mx900.. but any universal remote today should have the blue, red, yellow, green hard buttons.. Besides, the 850 does not even have the 30 sec skip button.. That is really silly.. DVRs had already been in existence before they made the 850..
If you do find a remote with a timer, let me know. I am looking at harmony 900 but I am not sure it has a sleep timer..
