Trying to control an Oppo UDP-203 via Crestron with IP control and can't find what port number to assign. Anyone know what that should be? I've tried 436 and 7624 but no luck.

Any luck with IP control ? I am thinking about getting one of these but if it won't work via IP then not worth the money really...

The 203 i tryed on Port 23 as the oppo sent his status.

The response after connecting is the same.
But he did not accept the Commands.

Wat is differnet to the 103?

Ended up switching to serial control, his network was giving me issues.

It is noted the 203 does NOT have IP control.
Unless you can reverse engineer their app and broadcast UDP to it. Bit dicky really and disappointing from Oppo after the 93/ 103

AFAIK, the Oppo never had officially documented IP control, just an app.


Again, AFAIK, this is what was done in the previously quoted thread [Link: remotecentral.com] . Can you confirm that the solution presented there does not work?

I read through the document linked in the last message. It appears as, while the 93/95 & 103/105 use a somewhat funny communication mechanism (XML fragments sent over UDP, no (real) responses), the mechanism in the 203/205 is much more standard: TCP, basically the TCP sockets instead of serial RS232. This allows bidirectional communication. The discovery mechanism is different too.

Yesterday I've made test application in c# to try control 203 by ip protocol.
It works. I can receive oppo's broadcast and get information about server name, IP address and port. Comunication by TCP/IP was established and I've tested some commands like eject, close, off and on with server response about satus of execution.
I've met one problem: i can't make 203 ON when it is in standby state regardless that it should work (that is written in document about Control Protocol).
By the way the same situation is with original Oppo app for iOS.
Is there anybody who was sucessful with ON command?

OK. I've found solution on problem with remote POWER ON command for my test application for PC and for original OPPO Media Control app.
All what is to do is to set Standby Mode from default Energy Efficient to Network Standby in Device Setup in Settings.
