Has anyone been able to get the SC-55 to reliably power on vs rs-232? The command seq they provide is: 100 ms PO 100ms ?P 100ms PZI can't seem to get this to work, I also note that this is a full loop that in theory should turn the unit on and off again, so I've tried removing the last PZ since that's a power toggle, but still no luck.

Please ignore - I figured it out, I had mistakenly entered my as hex 13 instead of decimal 13.

Gamecock fan; as in THE USC? Why are you sending a hex string? The receivers respond to ASCII for IP and RS-232.

yes, "The USC" I am using URC Accelerator (Total Control Editor) and it allows ascii, hex views. I am new to rs-232 programming. I don't know how to type in ascii. Thanks

I haven't looked at that for a while but isn't there an IP/RS-232 driver for an SC-37 in their database? The Power commands haven't changed. Some input source commands, network discretes, and functions are new.

yes, there is. It is just the PO command and didn't work. That is when I started digging deeper. edit - Note, I was using IR before and it was working fine. I am exploring RS-232 and ip control now.

The command has to be sent twice in quick succession. Approximately 100ms apart. There may be a repeat setting in the program software. If not do it as a macro. Did any other commands work?

I tried briefly to setup a Pioneer receiver IP module with Total Control and could not get it to work at all. Never enough time to get back to it.

OK, I think the repeat is working most of the time. Still trying to polish this a bit. Thanks for help.

Pioneer always need a wake-up before you can power it on. use it like this: \x0D 0.5 seconds delay PO Make sure to put it under Special Macros (device Power Macros) in Accelerator. Also turn off the energy save crap in the menu of the Pioneer, otherwise the RS-232 port is not listening. If you send me an email I will send you the driver.
