I've been looking high and low for rs232 command specs for this TV. Can anyone help me out here?

I think so. Try these hex strings, all 9600,N,1:

Code is split into 6 parts

[HEADER][PARA1][ID][PARA2][PARA3][CHECKSUM]

Checksum is calculated by adding [PARA1],[ID],[PARA2],[PARA3]
and then stripping off the first digit in the total.

ENERGY saver OFF must be sent in order for RS-232 to be recognized.
