Started a new thread on this. Some of you might remember that I put out a call for help for advice on how to get my
MX500 to be able to send out all the codes for the IR543AH (a souped up version of the IR543 that works with all house (A-P) and unit (1-16) codes not just one house and units 1-10). The
MX500 only came with the codes for the IR543 and so could not take full advantage of the IR543AH.
So last Friday I sent an email to Bill at homeautomationnet.com asking him if he and his company would be willing to program a PUR08(the inexpensive X10 learning remote) using a Pronto with all the codes for the IR543AH and sell it to me. By the following Monday he had programmed the remote, tested it against an IR543AH and with a signal analyzer and shipped it! I received it two days later and taught all the codes into my MX500 and it works flawlessly. I really didn't expect Bill and homeautomationnet.com to do all this work for me, but he did and for that I am very grateful. It's rare to find a company that will go through this much trouble for such a peculiar request. Thanks Bill!
Now for the fun part of organizing everything in the remote and using some of the favorites channels to do some cool X10 things. I use a computer as a central part of my home theater/automation system and this provides a very handy way to manipulate it.
I also want to thank Andrew from NY who saw my post and very generously offered to help me out with programming the codes.
Thanks everyone,
