Hi
Are transceivers the same thing as 2 way switches?
If not, can some one explain the difference for me?
Thanks : >

No, a transceiver receives commands in some non-X10 format (RF or IR) and then sends the applicable X10 command. A 2-way switch can both send and receiver X10 commands.

Larry,
First off let me say thanks for the help..THANKS: >
So if i want to also use a "pronto" would it be safe to say i should buy a Transceiver? (for ir commands)
If i want to also control all my switches with a "pronto" i should buy "transceiver only switches"
Thanks Deborah

I have no idea what you mean by "transceiver only switches". To control lights with your Pronto you will need an IR>X10 transceiver. See the IR>X10 Transciever page ate http://x10.how.to for a more detailed explaination and description of four of the more popular options.
