I am trying to find a device that will take a contact closure from a doorbell and turn it into an ir signal,send that ir signal into the RP-6 so i can mute the theater, house audio ect..
does anybody know of such a device or a better way to accomplish the same thing.

I just did a job with an older 590-00, we took in a contact closure from a Vantage lighting system, had a house off button and had that trigger a system off on a RP-6, as well as a cooling system failure contact closure to trigger a system off, as well as the cooling system gave us a 24vac for a VPS-1 input to lock out a system on which also opened a RP-6 relay thet controlled a surgex power conditioner
the Xantech 590 was easy to program and use, takes a 12vdc + or - input
