A current customer has relocated to lake county Fl with comcast as the service provider. So I need to change the remote program. Would like to get a jump on this early and codes for this model are not listed. Also, does the switched outlet on the back function for on/off sense port. Can learn on site, but as stated would like to start early . Thanks

The motorola 6416 uses the same codes as the rest of the moto boxes; 62xx, 6212, 6200... all the same Reason being motorola doesn't actually design the IR codes or the remotes for that matter. That is done by Universal Electronics. No discrete codes, sorry. Power is toggle, YAY!!!...
As for the switched outlet, you will need to change the settings in the menu to activate it as switched or un-switch. (Menu -> Menu -> Settings -> Cable box Setup). The Switched outlet won't be your problem, finding a transformer that has fast on, fast off capabilities will be. A lot of transformers can take over a minute, sometimes more to drain down to a low enough level that can not be detected by the VPS. I have tested quite a few, and most don't work.
There has been some discussion on the forums as to which are the good ones. They may be hard to track down in your area, i know they are in mine.
You can try using SPS, however the video signal may be "digital black" when the system is off, and it wont work. Same thing may occur with the analog/SPIDF connections. I have setup some boxes where the analog audio/video connections work, and others where they don't.
Hope that helps...

The work around for power is:
Power On:Menu, Power, Power
Power Off:Menu, Power
This works a majority of the time with the exception of when recordings are in progress.

SOLUTION Shunt a 220 Ohm Resister across the 12V power

You will also want one of the stubby ext cords. 6" or so , from the Shack. The power cord and the outlet are right on top of each other... no room for the transformer to plug in.
Anyone know a different source for these at better price?

Thanks for the info. I will give you all some. The niles audio 12volt supply works perfectly with vps-1 or directly into an RP1. Used about a hundred on SA cable boxes. Just glad to here the switched outlet works.

Be advised that on the switched outlet, if the customer ever calls comcast with a problem, and they do a hard hit on the box, it will revert the outlet to it's "unswitched" default state. At least that's what happens here.

This works a majority of the time with the exception of when recordings are in progress. This works very well. I'd rather have the box pop on and off to make sure it's on instead of hoping a firmware update doesn't wreck the switched AC outlet on HUNDREDS of systems I've done in the field... just sayin'... :)

Will experiment with this method. Have not had any real problem with brighthouse doing updates or box swaps. I have to go back anyways to correct all of the settings and reglue emitter. unplug digital from video jack and put back in digital. Just the way it is
