One of my T2C clients has needed a power down reset on the remote twice in the last year. I know that's rare, but does that suggest that I've got something squirrely in the programming? I bring this up because it's not totally outlandish -- in the Prontos, sometimes bad learns would cause the remote to reset, sometimes to revert to a useless factory program.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Most times with that symptom it's going to have to go back to RTI.

Only twice a year? No big deal.

I now instruct my clients that if it locks up, to flip "this lil' bitty switch right here" to reboot it.

Wondering if I should have to do that, but alas, it's life in the city.

In 5+ years of doing RTI I've never had a remote "lock up" because of a code or button press.

I have had my T3v lock up a couple times over the course of 2+ years... I chalked it up to a random glitch... and the fact that I have custom pictures set as backgrounds which slows things down a touch.

I have had plenty of T2C remotes lock up because of the infamous white screen of death. The symptoms there start out happening every once in a while then start happening more frequently until final death.

Your situation sounds like random glitches, but should be monitored.

The need to reboot an RTI remote seems to be in the color touchscreen remotes.Of course nobody knows why and nobody from RTI has stepped up to the plate to explain. I know I would appreciate an explanation, as it is unprofessional to instruct a reboot.

I have had a few T2-B's need rebooting because the screen would get very dark, as if the contrast was set to a dark setting. But it just seems to do it on its own, reboot and its fine.
