the speakers that we sold looked like something that you
could see in a bar,
they were three way towers about 3½ feet tall, with waffle
style car speaker covers
and covered with grey felt or carpet like material
from the pics that i have seen online, they look like
decent speakers

i was offered these EXACT speakers back around 95 in Victoria, British Columbia. i saw the van around a few times, and my friends dad actually ended up buying a pair (coincidentally on his own, not by my recomendation or anything). they actually sounded pretty good (from a teens perspective of course), but blew after only a few months. my buddy took them apart and found the thinnest cheapest wiring and components possibe.... no surprise there.

I feel terrible. I bought four pair for $2000, thinking I could sell the other 3 easy.
That was a months paycheck. I did take a tag number and called the Police and he explained it was actually legit, but that I could sue them. I've got to have my money back NOW. I looked all over the area they were at, but couldn't find them. I swear I will break their arms off. It was a guy and a real pretty girl. The girl talked a great game, had catalog and I called the phone number and it worked. I didn't have the money and he rode with me to the bank. Thinking back, he could have just killed me. How stupid.

Anyway, I have three sets left in anyone is interested. They sound really good. I will
let them go for $250 a set, cheap for what I paid. I think they are worth at least that.
Just post here if interested and I will check back soon. You will have to pay shipping.
They sell for $400 on ebay.

I would have thought more people would be aware of what is going on and use just the slightest dash of common sense.
It was a long time ago but I was probably 16 when I was first approached by the two-dudes-in-a-van scheme. It was blatantly obvious what was going on and 15+ years later I still politely say no. SoCal must be a good area for this because I cannot remember how many times I have been approached over the years. Probably makes for a decent living.

Yeah, the customers are just a bunch of Morans.

I wonder if Joanie is okay with that.

It's sad that this thread is still at the top of the list. It has been for almost a week. Isn't anything happening out there in A/V Entertainment Land?
