I have had a Pioneer DV-F727 for about 3 years and have just purchased another so I can link them for 600 disk control using the Master/Slave connectors. I have tried connecting these units and it does not work. I have tried with either as the Master, but in both scenarios the Master comes on and the slave remains off. The slave can not be switched on by front panel button or remote.

Has anyone had experienced of connecting these units? I would like to know if there are any tests I can do to determine which unit is faulty. Is there a way to measure the signal that should be coming from the master? I do not want to send away one of the units just to find that the other is at fault!! and I hate the idea of having to send away both units just to find out which unit is at fault (Particularly as the old one has 300 disks in it)!!

Any thoughts, ideas would be welcome.

Many thanks.

Not that this answers your question, but it reminded me of an article I found funny, yet sad... Check this out! [Link: cnn.com]
