Hi all. I just recently purchased a new TV, and I'm trying to change the code for the TV so I can control it.

Following the instructions in the manual, I try:

1) COMMANDER OFF + MUTING
2) PRESET
3) Press TV and the remote beeps twice and 'NG' flashes on the screen

I get the same reaction when I press STB (which I have setup to control my DirecTV STB, but if I press AMP (which is already set to control my Pioneer receiver), the problem does not occur and I can get to the next step which is to enter the component code.

Can someone help me determine what I need to do to reset the component code for the TV button?

Thanks
Travis

Just found a thread from 2003 that might be the issue.

If you have any LEARNED commands for the component, you must delete this first before you can reset the component code.

I know that I programmed learned commands for the TV and STB, so it makes sense that those two I cannot reset, but the AMP/AV Receiver can be reset.

Hopefully this is it. I will try it out when I return home.
