Any chance that Sony will get around to supporting the Logitech network media players, specifically the Squeezebox Boom?

I didn't realise how limited these learning remotes really are. Either the codes are in Sony's database or you have the original remote to learn from, or else ... you are stuffed.

A bit frustrating when the Logitech codes are in the public domain - there is just no way of getting them in to this "universal, learning" remote control.

I admit, I should have done more pre-purchase research. However, I had previously owned a universal remote in the eighties which allowed you to enter specific codes to see if they did anything to the machine you were pointing at. You could then allocate the code to a button. I had just assumed that all learning remotes would have a similar function and, given I knew that Logitech codes were public, I thought this was going to be a real cinch.

It just seems to me that the database system is bound to be a real pain given the proliferation of devices these days, especially if Sony does not react to customer requests to add a new device to their systems - yes, I asked on their website form about 6 months ago. Hope springs eternal.
