I have a new samsung lcd tv and a yamaha rx-v2095 and would like to program discrete on and discrete off into my new vl610. What are the ways I might accomplish this?

If the Samsung and Yamaha remotes don't have discrete ON/OFF then you'll need to teach them to this VL610 using a different remote. See this thread. [Link: remotecentral.com]
