Hi,

I picked up this Sony remote to control one of our rooms. So far, I'm pretty satisfied but one thing has me confused. Here's what I'm trying to control: TV (RCA), FIOS box (Motorola) and a pre-amp (Outlaw 970).

The issue is the Outlaw - there are now component codes for it so I've used the learning function of the Sony in order to transfer various functions. After that I setup a series of commands through the system control functions to power on the amp, turn on the FIOS box and turn on the TV. Works fine - except when I user the same system control to power stuff off. Both the TV and FIOS box power off but the pre-amp stays on.

I've tried using the learning function to control power off but no luck. I do this by hitting the set function for several seconds, then hit the amp component and then hit the power button. Seems as though you can't 'learn' power - is that the case? The Outlaw uses discrete codes - not sure how this translates to the Sony.

Thanks!
Bob

I'm not familiar with Outlaw preamp. However, I had no problem with this remote learning power toggle from another device. Sounds like you've taught the Sony the Outlaw's discrete ON, not the toggle On/Off?
