THANKS FOR THE GREAT Review...

After reading this review I bought this GREAT remote to replace my 2100. I need help though... I have a Philips 42PF9630a/37 and the remote works well but it operates like to RC4318 whereby it cycles through the inputs.

What is the best solution to have the 610 select the right input from the stsem control?

Is there a short cut tip on the Philips RC4318 remote? This way I can have the 610 learn that code

or

Is there another solution you could recommend?

Thanks to all who offer a reply...

Thanks, Gavin

I was looking for the same thing for the Aquos D64 TV. One thing I've found that it's rare to have hidden key combination that will give users ability to send discrete codes. So others have suggested that the next best approach is to get an inexpensive remote that will allow you to program discrete codes for input selection, and then teach that to your VL610 remote. If you have the need to use multiple remotes, then that would be very cost effective and allow a lot of flexibility in the future. I got the URC-8820N online for less than $15 just for this purpose. And after asking questions here and at hifi-remote.com, I got all the discrete inputs and power programmed to the URC-8820N, and then taught those to multiple VL610s. There are several inexpensive and powerful remotes that can do this, such as the RCA RCRP05B ($20 at BB) that a lot of people seem to favor.
