I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a discrete off for the 3000ES & 5000ES Sony Recievers! I've tested all the codes in the MX database, I've checked the Pronto files and I've even called Sony directly(they're useless). It's suprising because the Sony ES product is usually pretty good. For now I'm ancoring it by flashing MD/DAT (unused input) followed by toggle power. That works but it's not as reliable as the discrete power command. Anyone??

You can use the system standby function on your receiver remote to create a discrete power off signal, which can be learned on your learning remote.
Of course, if you have other Sony components they will turn off also.

The Sony power discrete codes are 109 off and 113 on, but these require a Radio Shack/OneForAll remote.

What kind of universal remote are you using?

We are using Crestron. Thanks for the help, but we got it. I just learned it in from the 9000ES remote we had in house.

You probably have it in AV2 mode.
